Open Hearts Family Wellness Awarded $25,000 from Mercy C.A.R.E.S.
Grant to support implementation of Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics
Maricopa County – 15 July 24 – Open Hearts Family Wellness (OH) is an organization helping thousands of people improve their lives through comprehensive mental health treatment and supportive housing. The $25,000 investment from Mercy C.A.R.E.S. funded the Open Hearts’ certification to provide Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT).
The Neurosequential Model, developed by Dr. Bruce Perry, is a comprehensive approach to understanding and addressing the needs of individuals who have experienced developmental trauma, guiding the development of effective interventions that promote healing and resilience. This model aims to empower individuals to reach their full potential and lead fulfilling lives.. The grant was applied to costs for Open Hearts to be a certified site enabling Open Hearts to provide NMT services and to train clinicians for endorsement in NMT. The grant enhances quality of care by ensuring NMT services continue in Arizona through Open Hearts and that Open Hearts can work to increase in NMT-trained clinicians for both OH and the AZ system of care.
“We are grateful for the support of Mercy C.A.R.E.S., who have identified themselves as an ally in the pursuit for good mental wellbeing,” says Dr. Christopher Keck, President and CEO of Open Hearts. “This funding, and subsequent certification, marks a significant milestone in our journey to ensure children and families have the best support and high-quality services available to them, NMT is an essential service for the community of Arizona.”
Mercy C.A.R.E.S., which stands for Community Action Resources Education and Service, is Mercy Care’s community giving initiative. Through grant funding, sponsorships, volunteer efforts, and board participation, Mercy C.A.R.E.S. supports AHCCCS’ Whole Person Care Initiative, which addresses social risk factors to improve health outcomes.
“Mercy Care is thrilled to provide Open Hearts Family Wellness with a Community Reinvestment Grant.
