For the 13th year, the global health community is coming together to commemorate World Sepsis Day on September 13, 2024 (WSD 2024). WSD 2024 marks the beginning of a new chapter in the global fight against sepsis as the Global Sepsis Alliance launches the very first multi-year strategy – the 2030 Global Agenda for Sepsis. Building on the successes of immunization, AIDS, and other programs, the 2030 Global Agenda envisions making sepsis the next major success story in global health. The FDA has approved FluMist as the - FIRST Influenza Vaccine That Does Not Need to be Administered by a Health Care Provider - for the prevention of the flu caused by influenza subtypes A and B in people ages 2 through 49. FluMist can be self-administered or given by a caregiver. This is a new option for families, one that FDA hopes will provide more convenience, flexibility, and accessibility as they remain committed to advancing public health. This flu is a contagious respiratory disease that usually circulates during the fall and winter months. The symptoms can be mild to severe ranging from body aches, fever, coughing, sore throat, fatigue, and a stuffy or runny nose.
