📢We invite system-involved youth & families to share their experiences w/fines & fees in the Wisconsin courts: https://ow.ly/pq8Y50S0gxL 💸Wisconsin courts can charge families thousands of dollars when young people get into trouble w/the law. If families can’t pay these costs, they may face consequences including having their tax returns or wages garnished. ❗Not only does this court debt contribute to the cycle of poverty & racial inequity, but it also increases chances of recidivism & the cycle of incarceration for system-involved youth. ✅With the Wisconsin Debt Free Justice Coalition, we have put together a survey to better understand how such costs impact Wisconsin youth families. If you have experience with youth fines and fees, we invite you to complete it: https://ow.ly/pq8Y50S0gxL ⏩You can also forward the survey to any youth & families. 💳💳💳To honor the time and experiences, respondents can enter to receive a $50 Visa gift card. Kids Forward is working w/a coalition of national & Wisconsin community organizations & legal advocates to learn how juvenile, criminal, & municipal court costs (fines, fees, surcharges, & restitution orders) are impacting Wisconsin’s system-involved youth & their families. Here is one way you and/or your organization can get involved!

Research like this is invaluable to the autistic community. By understanding the barriers and enablers to successful long-term employment for autistic people, we can look at how these barriers can be overcome. In my view education is key, as education builds knowledge, which in turn builds acceptance. I honestly believe that most employers are very comfortable to provide adjustments, if they understand the rationale for this and the benefits, which are enormous. By contributing to research, we assist in building that rationale....and we may even convince funders to put more funds into education!
Have you hired an Autistic employee through Disability Employment Services (DES) in Queensland? We are looking for employers from all different industries to better understand the experiences of employers who have recruited autistic individuals through DES in Queensland. Employers will be asked to participate in one 60 minute Zoom interview at a time convenient to you. We aim to better understand the barriers and enablers to successful long-term employment for Autistic people - and your insight will be invaluable! Participants will receive a $25 digital gift card as a token of our appreciation. Please complete a short EOI form at http://t.ly/mFTvV and we will contact you to schedule an interview.

Snowbanks and snow and ice-covered sidewalks, crossing and transit routes are barriers that increase the risk of serious slip-and-fall accidents for pedestrians and make it difficult for people who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision to safely navigate their communities. Snow removal is an accessibility issue, a mobility issue, and a human rights issue. Help make your community more accessible by advocating for better snow removal in your region. Here's how: 1. When you encounter a sidewalk, pathway or transit stop that hasn't been properly cleared of snow 48 hours after a significant snowfall (or sooner if mandated by your municipality), submit a complaint with your municipality. Many municipalities have a centralized 311 number or equivalent service, allowing residents to easily report issues and submit a service request. 2. Talk to your friends, family, neighbours, and local businesses about their snow removal practices – remind them of their responsibility to clear snow and ice from public paths of travel. 3. Participate in our #SnoWay contest by sharing photos of a poorly cleared sidewalk, crosswalk, or transit stop. Document the challenges posed by pathways blanketed in snow and ice by emailing advocacy@cnib.ca or posting about it on social media, tagging CNIB and using the hashtag #SnoWay. Each submission should include an image description with details about the snow barrier and location (e.g., the bus stop at the intersection of Bank Street and Queen Street). Bonus – submissions will be automatically entered in a draw for a chance to win a $100 Visa gift card! To learn more about CNIB's "SnoWay" snow-removal advocacy campaign, visit https://lnkd.in/eUtkxG-d [Image description: A residential street, sidewalks, and surrounding buildings are covered in snow. After a Debbie Downer post two days ago about how my parents bought $1000 worth of Visa gift cards, of which $900 had been used before they purchased them -- I am joining in on something way more fun. My friends, Jennifer Davis and LIAM DARMODYᵍᵐ shared their iterations this week generated from ChatGPT - most of mine were terrible! After a few tries - this is what I came up with to mirror my consulting website's general look and feel. If only my hair were this luscious! Dall-e came up with fun spelling in the background, too. What do you think? ---------- About Visa: I do not consider myself an influencer with many followers. It has taken me seven years to grow a curated network of relevant professionals and to engage in content that helps people with career transitions. Most posts do reasonably well, but they have never "gone viral." My post about the Visa card fiasco is in my top 10 most viewed. If you and your family want to avoid getting taken, I recommend you watch my 5-minute video. Protect yourself. Especially protect the seniors and elderly in your family who assume these cards are safe. In most cases - they will *never* get their money back. Reconsider gift cards for wedding and graduation presents. Send a message to these #fintechs. I will give an update as I work through the issue. I got very lucky and have a person who I believe can help my parents reclaim their money ($900!). If you are wondering, "How can this happen?" - then stay tuned, and click my "follow" button, as I have much more to share on the topic. If you hit the "notification bell" 🔔 you might have a better chance of my posts popping to the top of your feed. https://lnkd.in/g6bCqfue #gratitude for those hunting down the fraudsters.

The deadline to take the 2024 Arizona Child Care Market Rate Survey is fast approaching on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. Open to all of Arizona’s licensed and certified child care providers, the survey asks about staff wages, benefits, and other provider costs which will better inform child care subsidy reimbursement rates. Your feedback helps make sure that reimbursement rates reflect current private pay market rates and that policies align with common provider business practices. Responses will be kept confidential. Participation is voluntary but highly encouraged. Surveys are available in English and Spanish. Participants who complete the survey by May 7, 2024 will be entered to win a Visa gift card.
