"At Life Pieces To Masterpieces, we have always believed that it is not about us giving power to our boys and young men, but, rather, we believe that they have the innate creative ability to transform their lives and to enact positive change in their communities and their world." Continuing our recognition of Leaders of the Future, The Community Foundation is highlighting the work and mission of peacemakers who are working to empower children, youth and adults to build stronger, safer communities. We asked Life Pieces To Masterpieces to share how they are empowering young men through mentorship and creativity. https://ow.ly/8yHF50SoKxP

One of our organizational values is Justice, and on Juneteenth we'd like to recognize the meaning of justice within our organization: “We are well aware that the social, political, and financial biases of humans make the balance of justice easy for some and very difficult for many. The scales of justice, be it legal or social, have a heavy human hand on one side of the scale that many do not have the resources to gain the supportive weight needed to offset the preconceived attitudes toward them. We see the shelter and its staff as the balancing force needed to help people get the fairness they deserve.” As you commemorate, celebrate, or reflect upon the significance of Juneteenth today, we want to recognize our team for their devotion to all our values, and our mission. They are on the frontlines of so many social and spiritual issues at St. John’s Ministries, and it is important to slow down and consider how all this weaves into the greater moral issues of our time.

On this Peace Day, with the theme of Cultivating a Culture of Peace, I emphasize that the best way to do this is by creating peaceful environments at home, in schools, in our communities and everywhere. Children learn from what they experience, and learning peace values from early age promotes a culture of peace. Happy Peace Day!

📣 Observing Juneteenth at Charette High School 📚 Today, in observance of Juneteenth, our school community pauses to reflect on a pivotal moment in American history. On June 19, 1865, news of emancipation finally reached enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, marking the end of slavery in the United States. This day, now a federal holiday, stands as a testament to the enduring spirit and resilience of the African American community. While our students and staff are not in school today, we encourage everyone to take this time to learn, reflect, and honor the significance of Juneteenth. Here are some ways we can all engage meaningfully: 📖 Learn: Explore the rich history of Juneteenth and its impact on American society. Numerous online resources, books, and documentaries provide deep insights into this important day. 💬 Reflect: Take a moment to reflect on the progress we have made towards equality and the work that still lies ahead. Consider how each of us can contribute to building a more just and inclusive society. 🤝 Support: Support African American businesses, artists, and organizations that work towards social justice and community empowerment. 🌟 Share: Share your thoughts and learning experiences with family, friends, and the community. Raising awareness helps keep the spirit of Juneteenth alive and promotes understanding and unity. At Charette High School we are committed to fostering an environment of inclusivity, respect, and continuous learning. Let’s honor Juneteenth by coming together in the spirit of reflection, education, and community. #Juneteenth #CharetteHighSchool #ProvidenceEducation #ReflectAndLearn #InclusiveEducation #AfricanAmericanHistory #CommunityUnity

A Tale of Two Cities part one A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens famously opens with the line: “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…”This story can be used as a metaphor to explain and better understand the extremes of daily life in different types of Christian schools. The best of times… Types II & III. The worst of times… Type I. A Type I Christian school is owned and operated by a parent organization. Most are church owned and operated schools. Others are owned by universities, individuals or parent organizations. Type II Christian schools are still ministries of the parent organization, however as they have grown in size and complexity they have been granted more autonomy for the good of both organizations. In the United States one important aspect of this autonomy is the granting by the Internal Revenue Service a separate 501c3 status for Type II schools. This is hugely advantageous as this allows these schools to own their own facilities, establish their own financial reporting, follow effective governance, maintain their own bank accounts and provide their own gift receipting. Type III Christian schools are independent from any parent organization.

This Black History Month, we’re celebrating the changemakers transforming the futures of young people of Black African and Caribbean heritage. To kick things off, we’re spotlighting ACCESS UK, an organisation dedicated to addressing the critical issue of Black youth unemployment. Through its impactful initiatives, ACCESS UK is not only changing the narrative but amplifying the voices of countless young people across London, providing them with the opportunities and support needed to thrive. One of their flagship initiatives, the Operation Black Employment (OBE) programme, is tackling the urgent crisis of Black youth unemployment by helping young people access meaningful job opportunities. Although currently operating on a smaller scale, OBE has already made a significant impact, with plans to expand its reach and create even greater change across London. https://lnkd.in/eeHknUnB Another standout programme, ‘Road 2 CEO,’ equips young people who have been involved with the youth justice system with entrepreneurial skills to successfully re-enter society and launch their own businesses. We’re proud to spotlight ACCESS UK as the first organisation in our Black History Month series. Their incredible work is empowering young people to rewrite their own stories, break down barriers, and create lasting opportunities for success. ACCESS UK is leading the way toward a brighter future, one entrepreneur at a time. Nana Agyeman FRSA #BlackHistoryMonth #ReclaimingNarratives #YouthEmpowerment #ChangingTheNarrative

🎉 As my birthday week reflections continue, and thanks to EVERYONE who has given me recommendations on their favorite history books, today I focus on another transformative event in our nation's history. I want us to remember the brave actions of the Little Rock Nine, a group of young Black students who integrated Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas amidst severe racial tensions in 1957. In fact, the crisis at Little Rock escalated to such an extent that on September 24, 1957, President Dwight D. Eisenhower found it necessary to deploy the National Guard to enforce the Supreme Court’s Brown v. Board of Education decision from 1954. This marked the first time a sitting president had deployed federal troops to enforce civil rights since Reconstruction. I encourage you to dig deeper into this chapter of our history— I bet you’ll find TONS of relevance to today’s landscape. [https://lnkd.in/gaF9ZCGk] The Little Rock Nine faced unimaginable challenges with a dignity that inspires us all. They were not merely students; they were pioneers of justice. This story is a poignant reminder of the crucial role of education in shaping a just society. At The CAFE Group, through our 1954 Project, we draw inspiration from such historical milestones to fuel our commitment to advancing educational equity through more equitable philanthropic practices. We work to ensure that future generations are empowered to pursue justice and innovation without facing the barriers that once seemed insurmountable. 🎁 Continuing with my birthday week theme, I ask each of you to share stories or books about other events or figures that have deepened your understanding of history. If you didn’t get a chance to name one yesterday, please take a moment to do so now. Let’s draw inspiration from our past to build a better future…for ALL of us. #TheCAFEGroup #CivilRights #LittleRockNine #EducationEquality #HistoryLessons #SocialJustice #BirthdayReflections #LoveIsMySuperpower

Toastmasters was organized by Bratva patriarch John Paul Getty before the First World War. Membership is open to Bratva Bosses, Bratva Underbosses. And Bratva "Bed Buddies". Bed Buddies are what Bratva Bosses refer to their henchmen. Each Toastmaster claims they are "Satan" and each has made the claim they are "Christ". As Nortel Communications employees can attest, Membership inclusion within Toastmasters requires molestation of the initiate's 2nd begotten child at least once by the initiate. Pictures are required for proof of entry. John Paul Getty's library has 1000s of such pictures. Toastmasters meet once per month at multiple locations throughout the world. Toastmasters members craft alagorical accounts of their molestation attempts and share these narratives with the group from a podium. Each member is required to share at least once. Toastmasters wives are aware of the abuse. Prizes are awarded to members based upon the receptiveness of their narrative and members' wives often assist in crafting the narrative. #faith #endtime #Armageddon #apocalypse #scripture #Toastmasters
