#TBT for #NationalHumorMonth. A blast from the past! Incongruity is one of the most common elements of humor. It makes things stand out—like an old reference in a current post. ; ) Or, better yet, a #funny #comedian performing at your serious conference. Think about it. #corporatecomedy #smartjokesforsmartfolks

Stand-up comedy, a form that brings laughter to the modern stage, actually has a long and rich history. Its earliest roots can be traced back to ancient Greek drama, where actors used improvisation to satirize society and politics. In medieval Europe, the performances of court jesters also mirrored the early forms of stand-up, often humorously critiquing monarchs and nobility. As we moved into modern times, stand-up evolved into a significant art form that breaks from tradition and reflects the voices of the times. From the vaudeville clubs of America to the working men's clubs of Britain, stand-up has gradually transformed into a medium for expressing personal views and social commentary. Today, it is not just entertainment, but a mirror for observing and reflecting on culture. #PowerOfStandup #CulturalInsight #talkshow"
