Tarkan Batgun Batgun and Nicola Innocentin-Head of GLOBAL FOOTBALL SERVICE (CY) LTD. analyzed the top 4 U23 players in Italy’s Serie B 2024/25 season so far for the Comparisonator Football Data Journal. The program is proudly presented in collaboration with the Social Football Summit. Tarkan Batgün-CEO of Comparisonator As the CEO of Comparisonator, Mr. Batgun brings over 20 years of analytical expertise and experience from both club and agency perspectives in the global football business. He served as a Board Member at Altinordu FK during the 2020-21 season and worked as a lecturer at Istanbul's prominent Halic University's Physical Education and Sports Faculty from 2010 to 2021. Mr. Batgun's career includes roles as the Director of Scouting at Bursaspor, where he pioneered the concept of the 'Scouting Laboratory,' and as a management consultant at leading companies such as SoccerLAB, Wyscout, and Sportstec Limited throughout the last 15 years. He has been actively involved in football education, having lectured at the Turkish Football Federation on Match Analysis and Scouting courses since 2010. Mr. Batgun also managed the Nike Türkiye scouting team from 2014 to 2021. New Club Alert! 🔥 IFREQ FOOTBALL x Paris Saint-Germain We are thrilled to announce that the PSG Academy is now using our testing technology to evaluate its players and uncover hidden talents with our dashboard! Before IFREQ FOOTBALL, each season, the top players from various categories of the Paris Saint-Germain Academy gathered at Camp des Loges for the Testing Experience. During a few hours, the children participated in a training session under the watchful eyes of the academy's scouts. This event allowed the children to recognize their abilities and, for some, to join the academy. They realized that this method didn't allow them to select the best players, as many went unnoticed. With hundreds of players evaluated in just two hours, it was impossible to know each player's true value, making their analysis subjective. They turned to us to solve these two problems: 1. How, with 18 academies around the world (Rwanda, United States, Brazil, Antilles, Morocco, Egypt, Turkey, Qatar, Germany), can they identify which players can join their academy without incurring high costs? 2. How to spot players suitable for these academies when many are off the scouting radar? This is where IFREQ steps in: 1. By testing their academies worldwide, we provide an objective view of their players' levels and compare them fairly for equitable selection. 2. Only 800k players are visible on scouting platforms out of the 500 million football players. Our test makes a player visible in one hour, regardless of age, weight, or position, enabling them to choose the best. But amidst the fervor, a significant debate is brewing: Is this the beginning of the end for in-person referees? The use of VAR (Video Assistant Referee) has been a hot topic this summer. It has changed the outcome of games by overturning decisions made on the pitch, yet it has also missed some clear handball faults. 🧐 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐠 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Should AI or computers make all the decisions in the next World Cup? In fact, in 2021, FIFA's Setting the Pace benchmarking report for women's football found that clubs with a written women's football strategy have a higher average club revenue, higher match attendances, more facilities available to them, and represent a greater proportion of clubs that are profitable or that break even than clubs that do not have a written strategy.
