Some other quick stats and ideas from the morning: - 35% up tick in turnover of GMs since covid Actabl. - Wages are up 20% bs 2019. 82% of hotels report being understaffed. - Transient represents 55% of occupancy in L12M and demand in transient leisure and corporate is flat in 2023, with ADR declining each month Kalibri Labs -Embracing personalization via rate plans giving the consumer the choice of what they want: housekeeping, shuttle, breakfast. Interesting time in travel - rethinking fixed costs as oprtunites to personalize vs nickle and dime. The greatest asset not being the building or brand but the employees. #hotelbeds #traveltech

"Culture eats strategy for breakfast." This is a famous quote, but I personally think it falls short. Yes, a great strategy with a terrible culture will be a problem, BUT.... Culture is often affected deeply by the lack of a clear vision and strategy. The hustle to no clear end, the not seeing how the work ties into the overall vision and mission, etc. produces a culture that lacks excitement and direction. Having clarity throughout the organization of where you are going and how you are going to get there produces major culture building opportunity, breaks down silos and gets the team aligned which produces high value contribution.
