Compassion in World Farming’s Post

Today we've launched a new petition with our Patron Dame Joanna Lumley to call on the UK Government to ban cages for farmed animals. Hosted on the Government petition website, we need to hit 100,000 signatures to secure a debate in Parlament. Half an hour after emailing our supporters (with the email yet to land in everyone's inbox!) we're already passed 3,000 signatures, with more coming in every second. We never take their incredible support for granted! UK citizen or resident? Sign the petition here: https://bit.ly/40sMw4g

  • “It is outrageous that in the 21st century we are still keeping sentient animals in squalid, cramped, cruel cages – the UK should be ashamed.” Dame Joanna Lumley.

I hope Dame Joanna Lumley is vegan. Otherwise, it's a bit hypocritical...

Everybody should be ashamed, who wants animals to live like this, just for money!

A wonderful advocate for animals and people using her unique position to be a powerful voice - let's all be the best we can be as communicators and raisers of awareness.

complete contradictions going on here.. firstly-accepting a 'DAME' hood endorses the very system of oppression against all animals and is very much tied in with the enorsement of colonialiam and imperialism and oppressive class system that applies in the uk. secondly- in the 21st century with a healthier vegan version of every food being available. animals should not be part of any animal agriculture business- in any way shape or form.werlfarism eases the conscience of the buyer.. and gives the oppressors another marketing tool to add to their aresenals..
