Why to Reach the Court Early, Even When No Case is Listed:
Embrace the Serenity: The early hours in court offer a unique calmness. Walking through the empty corridors, it feels like a kingdom where I am the first to arrive.
Mindful Preparation: These quiet moments allow me to gather my thoughts and prepare mentally for the day ahead, away from the rush and noise.
Court Tea Over Bed Tea: There’s something special about enjoying a cup of tea in the court’s ambiance. It’s a simple ritual that reminds me of my commitment to justice and my role in this noble profession.
Setting the Tone: Starting the day early at the court sets a professional tone, showing dedication and readiness to seize the opportunities the day brings.

Another of my short videos to start the week.
If we have a single party in control who is unaccountable to anyone but themselves decisons can and are made without conversation.
We (the people of this country) often are not consulted or asked our opinion and yet these actions are done in our name and paid for by us.
Is it about time we rethought how we have allowed our system to operate?

Early morning drive on relatively empty roads. Sun shining bright. Good easy Saturday and district court engagement. Chamber practice. Filled with people, stories, commentaries and some discussions somewhere on law. Applicability, appreciation. Aspiration. Energy that this starting point is. With lots of love and embracing vibes. After a week of viral taking you down and many a weeks of grinding hardwork. Walking into the easy, light space. Breathers. You never know what gets you back on your feet, and when. The thrill and ever active process that litigation is. You go prepared for a dismissal and she wants you to file a reply. Generations trusting you, with their legal fate. Elders to bless you, and brothers to cooperate, collaborate with. Working together. Takes you by the glide.
Getting to do it the best, with the best. ✨
Oh, hey, it's your girl - featured in conversation with vChief about my "zone of genius" (their words, not mine!) as I talk about my approach and one of my favorite clients, Prison Law Office. Check out this quick video to learn more (as I attempt not to cringe at watching myself be interviewed!)
This moved and pulled on every heart string within me. It reminded me of the stories my husband would share as he went into disaster areas. He’s been adjusting over 15 years now. I was always nervous when he had to leave. He would tell me that his ministry are the people he meet in the field. The people he prayed with because their hope was piled up on a side walk or had floated into the streets around the corner. My viewpoint comes from a personal experience with the insurance industry. As remote work has grown to be the most convenient choice to maintain a balance between work and family. As DA’s we are not always directly exposed to the elements of disaster zones like our FA’s anymore. With a new generation of adjusters joining the claims industry, it’s imperative that they understand the money they make is second to the loss, pain and agony our insureds face after a disastrous event. I could unpack that in layers but will keep it simple for this post. I’m not sure we know what it is to sleep in our truck, use our phone or truck as a hotspot to get claims closed because there are no hotels in the catastrophe area. We don’t know what it is to drive two or more hours into that area or to have a decent place to rest for the night. Not to mention stay up all night writing estimates so that insureds can be made whole. FA’s have to make sure they have gas cans on their truck so they don’t give out of gas getting to the next safest town. May we continue to pray for the people of Asheville, Madison County, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida. The landscape of those community's have changed. We cannot fathom the smell of death lingering in the air or seeing bodies laying out for over a week now. The compassion, Empathy, and love for what we do are hinged on moments like these. Let us continue to remember as we watch and share this video that field adjusters are still needed to assess damage not just scope only. In my opinion the need for FA’s can’t be replaced with virtual inspections or have their experience, expertise and sacrifice watered down. Events like this remind us that we need boots on the ground, pickups and RV’s ready to go and sacrifice a few months out of our life to serve the people affected by disaster. The importance of mental health before and after leaving a catastrophic event is non negotiable. May we keep check on those preparing to deploy to these areas in days to come. Please share this video it spoke volumes to my why?

I got a hard call today and a request to share it. This is my best effort to tell of a fellow Claimstribe member that will be ok, but not today, not at all. This is painful to discuss but a hard truth we all must understand. We all have a point of breakage.
Ask the 'STUPID' questions 🤷🏾♀️
‘Explain it to me like I’m a 2 year old.’
Denzel Washington's trial attorney character in the film Philadelphia uses this device to simplify problems.
When it comes to the numbers in your business, it’s your job to ask the seemingly stupid questions. Ask your advisors to keep it Simple, Transparent, Usable, Plain, Informative and Direct.
🤷🏾♀️ Can you explain it like I’m a five year old as simply as possible?
🤦🏾♀️ This doesn’t make sense to me, what am I missing?
🙋🏾♀️ How does this affect me?
🤷🏾♀️ Without jargon what does that mean?
🙋🏾♀️ What would you do differently based on this information?
🙍🏾♀️ I don’t understand this, please explain it again..... like I'm a two year old.
Spotting what's going wrong and what's going right ahead of time can save you thousands and earn you even more.
When you know what to look out for, what to ask and start to apply what you know about your business to the information you are being presented with, it's a game changer.
💡 You can make better decisions.
💡 Act more swiftly
💡 Change direction as needed
💡 Double down on what's working
Love on your numbers with some stupid questions. It's the genius thing to do.
