An increase in vacancy is both good and bad. It's good that #Radiology is growing and more jobs are being created at a rate faster than almost all other specialties. But the struggle is also real. There aren't enough technologists to fill the need. Departments are short-staffed. Departments are losing up to 5k/day in tech vacancy costs. #radiologyjobs #radiologyhiringtrends #radiologystaffing

Ever wondered what a day looks like for a medical physicist? 🤔 Starting the day with a moment of reflection and connection with God sets the tone for my day as a medical physicist. With influx of creative ideas, I now carry a notepad during this time to capture thoughts that arise. En route to work, I listen to music or Christian messages, aligning my mindset for a productive day while sometimes attending to emails and messages. As a medical physicist, I play a crucial role in the radiation oncology team, handling both clinical and scientific aspects. Beyond technical responsibilities, I gladly manage administrative duties, drawing from experience in secretarial roles. Daily tasks involve calibrating radiotherapy machines, ensuring quality assurance, and optimizing diagnostic equipment performance. The dynamic challenges and rewards in medical physics make every day unique. After work, connecting with family and friends brings balance and encouragement, even on exhausting days when I find solace in late-night work and creative planning for the next day or ongoing projects. The day typically concludes with music as I unwind. Stay tuned for more glimpses into the life of a passionate medical physicist during this webinar https://lnkd.in/ehxbMpNU. Have you ever wondered what a medical physicist does? 🤔 Here, I share with you some fascinating areas where we play a crucial role: 🌟 Radiation Therapy: In the planning and administration of radiation therapy treatments, we help calculate precise doses and ensure the safe and effective delivery of radiation. 🛡️ Radiological Protection: We work on implementing and supervising practices to ensure safety in environments with ionizing radiation, protecting medical staff, patients, and the general public. 📷 Medical Imaging: We collaborate in the development and maintenance of diagnostic imaging equipment such as CT, MRI, and X-rays, optimizing images for accurate diagnoses with the least possible radiation. 📏 Dosimetry: We perform measurements and calculations to ensure that radiation doses administered during treatments are as prescribed by physicians, including the calibration and verification of dosimetric equipment. 🚀 Research and Development: We contribute to the research and development of new technologies in medical physics, implementing advanced treatments, developing new modalities of medical imaging, and participating in clinical studies. It is crucial to emphasize that the work of a medical physicist is essential to ensure the safety and effectiveness of medical practices involving ionizing radiation and advanced medical technologies. 💡👩⚕️🔬 #MedicalPhysics #MedicalInnovation #RadiationTherapy #MedicalImaging #MedicalResearch
