🏆We are delighted to be part of HP's Amplify Impact program, which recognises partners who are committed to sustainability and social responsibility. This picture shows my Enexis Change Guild colleagues in action last Thursday, reflecting on the awesome presentation about the bol product-led strategy by Taco Bakker. To facilitate this reflection, I used the “Liberating-Structure-in-development” 4-2-1-Snap! This was a first for me, and it worked quite well! Most people know 1-2-4-All, which is a brilliant tool to quickly reveal the most important ideas in a group. 4-2-1-Snap has a different goal. It is designed to let every individual participant identify their most important insights, but with help from the group. 💡 As we all have different experiences and beliefs, we all look differently at the information we receive, for example a joint decision or collective results from a meeting, or in this case a presentation. 4-2-1-Snap makes it possible to gather insights from others, let all information sink in and let the most important things nest in your memory. The steps and prompts that I’ve used: 1️⃣ Step “4” (5 min). Form groups of 4 and share your most important insights from the presentation. Do this by complementing each other’s insights in a fast pace, using the words “Yes exactly, and also…“ 2️⃣ Step “2” (4 min). Split your group in pairs and discuss what stood out in the flow of insights in the previous step, and which insights resonate with you the most. 3️⃣ Step “1” (1 min). Grab a chair and quietly reflect for yourself. What is the most important insight? What do you want to remember? What would be a possible first step that you can take yourself? 4️⃣ Step “Snap” (2 min). Close your eyes. If you have decided to take action, imagine that situation. Where are you? Who is with you? With whom are you speaking? How does that place look like? Keep visualizing these things in front of you. After a brief moment, invite participants to count down together from 3 and finish with a collective snap of the fingers. 🫰 It was really good to see everyone sitting there at the end, silently with their eyes closed, even if this is a bit of an awkward exercise for us 'down to earth' Dutchies. It seemed to have done the trick as the feedback afterwards was quite positive! 👉 In the coming weeks I will share an article with more information about 4-2-1-Snap, additional tweaks and facilitator tips.
