But here’s our top tips 💰 Never ever pay a contractor up front unless it’s a deposit for items such as windows, kitchens etc if you do, ensure it’s a legitimate contract 💰If your contractor is asking for payment up front it should only be for materials, if this is the case ask if you can pay the supplier directly and have the materials invoice in your name. 💰 Our top suggestion for regular valuations - weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on the size of the project. This looks after the client and the contractor and ensures you are only paying for work which has been carried out. 💰 You could also agree staged payments but ensure it is not heavy too start with and it falls in line with the work been carried out to those stages.
