📣 Flash News: Introducing Concawe's New NO2 Source Apportionment Tool! As the EU moves towards more stringent #airquality limits under the upcoming revised Ambient Air Quality Directive, nitrogen dioxide (#NO2) pollution from traffic and other sources will remain a significant challenge. In response, Concawe, in collaboration with VITO, has developed an EU-wide, high-resolution NO2 source apportionment web application. This innovative tool is designed for local and regional city planners, air quality experts, and authorities working on air quality policies. So, what can the tool do? ✅ Define scenarios in a user-friendly way up to 2050; ✅ Visualise the NO2 concentrations at measurement stations and in over 900 cities; ✅ Configure a new Euro 7/VII emission standard and additionally define urban access regulations scenarios in cities. I am so excited to share that the Concawe NO2 Source Apportionment Viewer is officially released and ready to use! The Viewer has been the outcome of a multi-year project that Concawe accomplished in collaboration with VITO (Stijn Janssen, Bart Degraeuwe, and others) with the aim to provide further insights on the importance of source apportionment in determining the effective solution for improving air quality. A fast and user-friendly application that can be used to understand better NO2 pollution in your area of interest as well as to define user-configured scenarios to assess the impact of traffic measures in comparison to other sectors in over than 900 cities in Europe. You can apply for an account using the following link: https://lnkd.in/dpracFV4 For more details regarding the methodology behind the Viewer you can read our research article: https://lnkd.in/eGh_Way9

I think it's a basic principle that if you buy something that produces data, you should own that data. Yet, for many air pollution monitors, this is not the case. I am therefore happy to sign this open letter with 100+ organizations, air quality experts, advocates, and funders to publicly state that we will preferentially support, where logistically, legally, technically, and politically feasible, “open-ready” air quality sensing equipment that: 1. Grants ownership of air quality data to the purchaser of the equipment, and therefore; 2. Legally allows the purchaser to share data publicly on a platform of their choice #OwnYourAQData Sign on: https://lnkd.in/eNwaAw7H

Have you considered hyperlocal air quality monitoring for your Local Authority? Provider of one of Europe's densest air quality monitoring networks, Vortex delivers real-time data on air particulates and gaseous pollutants, including PM2.5, PM10, NO2, and O3, that's precise to its location. This is data you can use to analyze and identify pollution hotspots, raise awareness on school campaigns or progress-track traffic calming initiatives. It's time to start using hyperlocal data to take accurate environmental action and not only rely on monthly average data. For more information on how you can make the #InvisibleVisible, download our #VTXAir brochure below👇

Interesting lab yesterday on how to reduce the cost and environmental impact of your deployments. It was an opportunity to discuss how to measure your impact and collect a couple of links thanks to Cyril Deblois, Arnaud Limoratto and Charles-David Teboul. Cost is a good proxy to your impact but not always, for instance choose wisely your region and saving plans do not help. https://lnkd.in/epj9CMRH

New data set released! If you find this dataset useful and want to see more data released or want to share what you have done with the data, let Stream: Unlocking Water Data hear your voice!
🚀 New Open Data Set Available on Stream! 🌊 We are thrilled to announce that a new group of open datasets have been uploaded to the Stream platform! 💧 What is it? Domestic consumption data This dataset offers valuable insights into yearly domestic water consumption across various Lower Super Output Areas (LSOAs) or Data Zones, accompanied by the count of water meters within each area. It is instrumental for analysing residential water use patterns, facilitating water conservation efforts, and guiding infrastructure development and policy-making at a localised level. https://lnkd.in/eJrpg7gZ #OpenData #WaterData #StreamWater #Innovation #Sustainability #DataForGood #WaterSector
