Great tips on co-facilitating from Leanne Hughes and 📚 Michael Bungay Stanier on the First Time Facilitator Podcast Episode #249 https://lnkd.in/gJfQ8eb8 Really enjoyed the 3 simple tips Michael shared (paraphrased here – check out the episode for more detail): 1.⭐️When your co-facilitator is speaking, ensure you are following along like what they are saying is pure gold. You need to be fully invested (see Tip #3). 2.🛑When your co-facilitator starts talking (“steps in”), you STOP talking (“step out”) - even if you were about to say something amazing - and go to Tip #1. 3.🔛Stay active and engaged. “If you’re off, get out of the room”. Always enjoy FTF Episodes! 👏 #facilitation

What can we break? What can we change? It’s no secret, I’m a huge F1 & Podcast fan (Hammy for the win – not ever so sure about this Ferrari malarkey but hey – I’m choosing to trust. Not buying the merch though. No thank you) So when The High Performance episode landed, marrying F1 boss James Vowles, I was straight on it He talks about this year being the perfect ground to break everything, challenge everything – and I can’t help but think this is the time for us in events too In person’s back with a vengeance and I for one am over the moon to be a part of it – lemming exploding “oh no” into happy confetti excited over the moon (And of course how can we include virtual, hybrid, asynch?) I ate a bit of humble pie the other day when I realised that in the effort to rebuild, I’ve missed the whole point of what excited me about the post pandemic event world Change Tortoise change in some cases and that’s totally ok Change is change Our event ships have a lot of stakeholders to manoeuvre them – they need to be on board and understandably, they may need a little bit of encouragement to change course Yet it is coming and the more and more people I speak with, the more and more the focus is on delegate experience and how we can make it better for them What we can do to make our events stand out? Daunting? Yip. Exciting? Crikey McCrikey yes What are you doing to challenge your event design? P.S. If you’re a supplier with something that can facilitate change – feel free to pile on and share what you offer in the comments (I say pile on but as I’m just starting out on LI posting, I’m betting my botty bot there’ll be tumbleweed and crickets around this post :D – another bit of humble pie. Good thing I like pie) #events #mice #eventprofs #changemakers

NEW EPISODE OUT NOW 🎙️🌟 We're back with another episode of TicketingPodcast.(com) recorded live in front of an audience of football industry professionals at Croke Park in Dublin last weekend! In this episode, Joe Foster, Ticketing Manager & European Competitions Coordinator at the Norwegian Premiership Champions FK Bodø/Glimt, shares insights on what to do when a small club with a tiny ticketing department faces ticket demand that exceeds its capacity tenfold. Here are his three key takeaways: 💬 Communication is key. Ensure that every stakeholder in your ticketing operation is fully informed of the situation. ⏰ Take your time. Avoid the mistake of rushing into an early ticket release out of panic. Instead, take a moment to gather your thoughts and devise a well-planned ticket release strategy. 🤬 Trust your fans. When you receive emails expressing frustration after a ticket release, there is often valuable feedback within. Listen to your fans and identify the issues they raise to improve their overall experience. Click the link for a 30-minute discussion on ticketing with Carl-Erik Michalsen Moberg and Joe Foster.
