This portfolio is a compilation of my works 1. Undergraduate thesis on "Strengthening the Roots of the Kuchipudi Yakshagana Tradition." It is an attempt to revitalise Kuchipudi village, where one of India's ancient dances, Kuchipudi, originated. 2. Urban Design: A Comprehensive Analysis of Chavakkad, India. Various levels of urban design research have been conducted, including deep knowledge of history, morphology, transportation, activity studies, ecology, and physical infrastructure. Finally, a proposed structural plan based on analysis and inferences for the chosen region of study has been developed, as well as a proposal project based on the observations—a fishing hub and activity centre. 3. The effects of color on Sense of Healing in Contemporary Hospitality Architecture in Ayurvi Sigiriya Hotel is critically analyzed and formed a theoretical framework by the author through this research paper. The main purpose of this study was to argue the importance of the a usage of color for healing and to present this as a framework for future architects and architecture students. Applying that framework to the tropical Sri Lankan context has to make changes in practical context.  Color affects to the mind, body, and soul of the patient as well. as the efficiency of activity space. The effect of color usage in hospitality. Architecture to create a healing environment is a challenge for the designer. The use of space is very important and should be incorporated with raw materials as well as natural elements.  Each Ayurvedic space should be based on materials and natural elements, which are two factors, for the patient to spend time and activities tranquility in the space.

Do you remember about incorporating deep #philosphy and #emotions into any #architectural or #urban_design project used to be a common approach of students during academics? Does it really work in practical world? I remember Egyptian Architect #Hassan_Fathy expressing his opinion in an interview. He said, "Architecture without philosophy and aesthetics would become #engineering. Architecture doesnt have any expressive qualities anymore. If you just have a T- square architecture with lines up and down there's nothing in it. Just compare such design with any Indian temple or a church may be; tell which is beautiful. Reintroducing #aesthetics and #philosophy in modern design is our duty. #Human_reference , #spirituality and #harmonics will bring people into a space. Nature itself has these three things in it and #God has created that!" I feel that incorporating philosophy or emotions into any project can indeed work in the practical world, though the #extent and #approach may vary. A space that considers human emotions and philosophical concepts can enhance #user_experience. Buildings that reflect philosophical ideas or cultural values foster a sense of identity. #Clients may value designs that resonate emotionally or philosophically with their vision or brand. This can differentiate projects and attract #stakeholders who prioritize these values. However, it's essential to balance philosophical or emotional considerations with practical aspects like #functionality, #budget, and #building_codes. Successful architects often integrate these elements subtly, creating harmonious spaces that are both practical and meaningful. A project where traditional design allows culture to foster and grow. Project Name - Nisarga Art Hub Designed by - @ar.vinudaniel Nisarga Art Hub is an initiative by a family of musicians to make a community residency where people can interact and congregate for art and cultural events. The site was near a paddy field, with the traditional “Kerala Roofs” being the only feature crowding the horizon around it. Even though these traditional roofs are famous for being the ideal insulators and temperature regulators, it’s a waning feature in contemporary architecture today, simply because the darkness they bring is not suited to the modern man’s comfort and aesthetics. Thus, the idea to break open the roof to accommodate skylights that stream in the light was conceived. The 35° angle of the roof seemed to perfectly match the 30° angle of an Open-Air Amphitheatre, and the idea for the same skylights to become seating spaces for an audience was born. A series of wooden planks could be set on the swimming pool and immediately double up as a stage for open-air concerts accommodating 75-80 people. Today I want to shed light more on a spiritual aspect rather than technicality in design. Storing water or placing water sumps under the staircase is not just a matter of convenience; it's a practice that carries deep cultural and spiritual significance in many societies. According to Vastu Shastra, a traditional Indian architectural system, water symbolizes emotional flow. Placing water sumps in such locations is believed to disrupt this emotional flow, potentially leading to emotional disturbances and instability within the family. I believe it's important to respect and understand these beliefs, especially when designing living spaces for culturally diverse populations. Vastu Shastra is an ancient Indian system of architecture and design that focuses on the harmonious balance between nature, buildings, and human living spaces. Derived from traditional Hindu and Buddhist principles, it incorporates architecture, geometry, and directional alignments to create positive energy flows in homes, temples, offices, and other structures. Key Elements of Vastu Shastra: 1. Directions (Disha): Each direction is associated with certain elements and deities: a)North: Ruled by Kubera (Lord of Wealth) b)East: Ruled by Indra (Sun God and Lord of Prosperity). c)South: Ruled by Yama (God of Death) d)West: Ruled by Varuna (God of Rain) 2. Five Elements (Pancha Bhoota): Earth (Prithvi) Water (Jal) Fire (Agni) Air (Vayu) Space (Aakash) 3. Layout and Design: Spaces are designed to allow the flow of positive energy, taking into account the natural elements and the cardinal directions. Some common Vastu tips include: The main entrance should ideally face the East or North. Bedrooms should be located in the South-West direction. Kitchens are best placed in the South-East. 4. Vastu Purusha Mandala: The foundation of Vastu principles, this is a grid used to design the layout of a building. It depicts the cosmic being (Vastu Purusha), lying with his head facing East and feet facing West, symbolizing the energy flow in a structure.
