Concord supported the Music Forward Foundation as part of our continued partnership at their second annual brunch on Sunday at City Club LA in Downtown Los Angeles. This event brings together music industry change makers and celebrates those who are consciously doing great work and positively impacting the world, moving our communities, industry and society forward. Today Newport Folk Festival announced the Newport Folk Stewardship Program and the first appointee - Nathaniel Rateliff! For the next three years, Nathaniel will work alongside the Newport team, dedicating his tenure to artist advocacy, curation, fellowship and mentorship. "Newport Folk Stewardship Program intends to recognize significant individuals who hold deep regard for enhancing and propping the esteemed legacy of Newport Folk. By appointing a steward willing to vow to consistently question and support the so-called “Folk Family,” Rateliff will work toward relevant initiations to impact future iterations of the festival format." https://lnkd.in/gCAkK_iP.

The survey, released yesterday, was published in American Theatre magazine and covered by the The New York Times. Whew, what a week! Last week embodied the excitement and passion of the music industry for us at Concord, with celebrations spanning several of our offices. From the Latin GRAMMYs set to take place in Miami, to Americanafest in Nashville, and Reeperbahn Festival in Germany, Concord celebrated several wins, nominations, performances, and honors. 🪕Rounder Records artist Sierra Ferrell took home two Americana Honors & Awards for ‘Album of the Year’ and ‘Artist of the Year’! The awards ceremony included performances from Sarah Jarosz, The War and Treaty, and Dwight Yoakam, with awards and honors presented by Amythyst Kiah, Silvana Estrada, Susan Tedeschi, Margo Price, and Nathaniel Rateliff. Sarah Jarosz, Allison Russell, Charley Crockett (PULSE), and The War and Treaty were also nominated for awards. With artists performing all week at Americafest across the city, and our very own Stephanie Hudacek and Brandon Schott participating on panels, there was never a dull moment. 🏆We are proud to represent publishing for Latin GRAMMY nominees Daymé Arocena (Song of the Year), Sammy Soso (Best Pop Vocal Album), Julian Bernal (Best Pop Vocal Album), Camilo Lara (Best Cumbia/Vallenato Album), and Concord A&R Manager Natalia Hernandez (Record of the Year)! 🤘Concord Music Publishing Berlin showed out at Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg, including performances by Lewis Fitzgerald, Jacob Alon, Strongboi, Soft Launch, and Tia Gostelow, and a conversation with Kim Frankiewicz. Strongboi received the Anchor Award; which is an international honor for up-and-coming musicians.
