As I continue to reflect on my experience at Concord, I felt compelled to post a more comprehensive internship recap. So without further ado, here it is: First, I want to thank Ayappa Biddanda for his guidance. I could not have asked for a more supportive supervisor. I feel incredibly lucky to have witnessed his passion, drive, and promotion expertise first-hand. Throughout the summer, I worked on a variety of engaging projects. I used Mediabase, JBE, and Pandora AMP to track spin counts. Specifically, I completed a long-term project tracking songs from Concord’s Emmy-nominated “Stax: Soulsville U.S.A.” docuseries. Diving into the expansive and iconic Stax catalog was definitley an internship highlight for me! Another highlight was drafting up promotion plans for Concord artists like Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Lindsey Stirling, and Tommy Richman (Special thanks to Ayappa Biddanda for workshopping these plans with me and providing me with detailed feedback). I also had a chance to interact with fans. First, I attended a showing of the Ghost concert film “Rite Here Rite Now.” After the movie, I compiled my notes and photos to create an in-depth recap for the Concord marketing team. Likewise, I helped facilitate an in-store event at Grimey's New & Preloved Music for Denzel Curry. Both of these experiences provided me with insight into the world of music marketing and fan engagement. Some additional projects include: creating and sharing playlists for American Airlines, participating in weekly Lunch & Learn chats, and reporting radio adds via weekly Add Board Updates. Overall, this summer was an unforgettable and educational experience. I loved working for a multifaceted (and independent) music company like Concord, and I know the lessons I learned this summer will benefit me in the future.

They are truly the fabric of American history. HBO hosted a premiere event in New York City earlier this year to celebrate the launch of the series, and it featured a Q&A with Deanie Parker, director Jamila Wignot, and legendary Stax artist Booker T.
