Customers of GTBank were recently sent an important account security reminder, asking them to link their bank accounts to their National Identity Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN) by March 1, 2024, in order to keep their accounts active. Failure to comply with this mandatory security requirement could result in restrictions on fund withdrawal and receipt from GTBank accounts. “If my account gets taken over I’m switching banks.” Totally understandable reaction.
