The importance of bus priority measures has been underscored by results from the latest CPT's Cost Monitor published recently. While operators have seen a significant slowdown in the rate of increase in costs over the twelve months to February 2024, analysis also suggests that a 10% increase in bus speeds has the potential to deliver 135 million miles of extra services each year at no extra cost. wot tosh. Ask any scheduler whether all non-productive minutes can be redeployed without compromising service reliability. . . . all sorts of issues are coped with by bus drivers, often with no impact on individual trip run-time. Also, speed of Service is not the top parameter of customers.
