Last night the Hilton Leeds City was the place to be! Thank you for inviting us and VisitLeeds to your Re Launch night full of surprises. Following their beautiful refurbishment of reception area, restaurant and Premium rooms, the Hilton decided to showcase the hotel while showing us how they host events. Every area of the hotel was used differently, you could enjoy Sushis in a Suite, Yorkshire pudding wraps in the breakfast area, ice cream in the restaurant, cheeses in the Brigante. The entertainment was just as good with a magician, casino tables, sax player, photo booth and many more. Giving everyone plenty of ideas on what to do for their next event. It's often the case with events that there aren't sufficient different spaces within a venue, or indeed your budget doesn't stretch to hiring yet another room, to move each stage of the event to another area.⁠ ⁠ However, a lot can be done by washing a space with a different colour.⁠ ⁠ Think using the breakfast room again post conference for drinks, or turning a civil wedding ceremony space into a cocktail area by removing the chairs and lighting the bar.⁠ #ternevents #exceptionaljerseyevents #jerseyweddingplanning #weddingplannerjersey #jerseyeventplanning #eventplannerjersey #eventlighting⁠ ⁠ Great Fosters Hotel & Restaurants Mark Wallis

When you’re building your target guest personas to inform your hotel’s brand, design, and service DON’T SLEEP ON THE LOCALS. Omitting the community from your consideration is a HUGE missed opportunity to diversify and increase your revenue streams, not to mention feel like a reflection of the destination to travelers. Here’s three examples of boutique hotels listening to the community to build a strong, symbiotic relationship that ultimately strengthened their brand and increased their ADR. 🛎️ Soul Community Planet (SCP) Hotels in Hilo listened when the community expressed frustration over a local swimming beach that was overrun with trash. For every guest that stays at SCP Hilo, the hotel cleans 2.2lbs of trash off the beach. 🛎️ When the only bakery in Sturgis, South Dakota closed, Hotel Sturgis opened one in their lobby, so that the local community could still enjoy fresh baked breads, pastries, and more. 🛎️ The Madrona, in Healdsburg, CA, decided to put non-Sonoma wines on their menu. A rarity for restaurants in the area who were catering to travelers, and not the locals who quite possibly tire of only having one option.
