Keeping your sponsors & exhibitors happy is a crucial piece of your event marketing puzzle. They can: 👉 Help you achieve your attendee acquisition targets. 👉 Elevate your event brand, by association. 👉 Bring their own audience. 👉 Be a key reason for attendance. 👉 Be your main source of revenue. Whilst helping exhibitors achieve their event goals should always be front of mind, you’ve also got to deliver a positive overall experience. Complicated logistics, crappy service, hidden costs and venue issues can all lead to exhibitors being determined to seek alternatives. Here are some of the basics: ✅ Make sure you have an agreed understanding of THEIR goals for the event, and have addressed any mismatch upfront. ✅ Your exhibitor/sponsor portal for managing logistics and accessing event information, is an easy to use one-stop shop. ✅ Provide a dedicated pre-event and on-site support person. BTW a re-booker is not (usually) an on-site support person. ✅ Help them to participate in high-value curated experiences, such as roundtables and customer-focused conference sessions. ✅ Promote them throughout the marketing campaign in MEANINGFUL ways e.g mention the value they bring to the event, rather than just a name-check. ✅ Choose a small number of your most impactful exhibitors and spend time on them. Collaborate on activities that will elevate their brand beyond the event itself. ✅ Book feedback calls with as many exhibitors and sponsors post-event as possible - give THEM space to tell YOU about their experience. Record and share with your team if possible. I don’t think there is anything more likely to foster change than listening to direct feedback. Use social media, email marketing, and other channels to spread the word. 🎯 Collect and track lead information effectively and follow up with leads promptly after the event to continue the conversation and convert them into customers. 🎯 Ensure you recruit the right team to man your stand. Not everyone is comfortable talking to strangers and engaging in a busy environment 🎯 Don’t clutter your stand with too many messages and keep your stand clean and tidy.
