While fusing a pipe and running a generator, Skilled Laborer and Fusers, Jaxon and Fernando noticed an unattended fire hydrant blasting water into a manhole. Inside, a man was trapped, unable to speak or escape. Fernando blocked the water while Jaxon shut off the hydrant, and together they rescued the man. Their quick actions likely saved his life. Their heroism embodies true GRIT and a strong commitment to safety. We’re proud to have such dedicated team members who go above and beyond to protect our community! #OneCongruex #Safety #Heros #SavingLives

When working at heights in any industry or doing climbing as free time activity, it is very important to double check those elements, which will impact the outcome in case of possible fall!!! It does not take much time if you learn it to have it as habit but it will help lot to stay safe. Always DOUBLE CHECK - - when removing some of the fall arrest or positioning equipment for yourself or casualty in case of rescue, - is there other equipment in place, which will work in case of fall? Is that equipment properly placed and adjusted? Always, before removing fall arrest equipment check if you are attcached somewhere else! - when using anchor points - will that point hold? - during rescue - is casualty attached as necessarry? When removing equipment of casualty, do not accidentally mix it with your equipment, especially if they are same colour! - are carabiners closed? If using carabiners with manual screw lock, ALWAYS have habit to check if they are closed and keep habit to check them now and then. If using double lock carabiners - check if they cannot accidentaly press against something an open. -if there would be fall, is there not any object or ledge close enough? Consider how long can be potential fall before fall arrest eqipment works! DOUBLE CHECK. Keep it as habit. Experience shows that it is very necessary. #workingatheight #climbing #ropeaccess #safetyatwork #rockclimbing #arborist #windturbines

Accompanied descent rescue with the RIG In case of a work emergency, a rapid evacuation solution for a single victim is an accompanied descent done by a co-worker. The RIG can be used to control a 2-person descent, up to the maximum load of (441 lbs). For improved control, the rope must pass through a braking carabiner. The rescuer transfers the victim's weight to the rescuer's descender, then controls the tandem descent. #RopeAccess #RescuePlan #specialrigger #FaçadeInspection #SafetyProgram #Sprat #Level3

Having a dual unit mounting option on your davit or pole hoist offers so many benefits if they are both on the same side like this picture shows, where personnel riding is required. This allows the entrant to attach to a winch and a fall arrest retrieve block so they have primary and secondary back up. This would then offer a complete system which caters for your rescue plan as well. This is also why the confined space regulations require entrants to wear a fall arrest harness with a rescue strop, this then allows attachment to the main rear 'D' for the winch with the fall arrest retrieve block attached to the rescue strop 'D'. So, many harness manufacturers are now stating the the rescue strop is an attachment point for fall arrest! But be very careful, as all of them put in the small print that this can only be done under certain conditions. Those conditions are that the anchorage point must always be above the wearing and that the fall arrester is always in tension. If this is not the case and there is slack in the system the fall could potential kill the wearer!
