BCR Signaling Overview👇 📎When antigens bind to B-cell receptors (BCRs) on the surface of B cells, it initiates a signaling cascade within the cell. This process begins with the activation of tyrosine kinases from the SRC family. 📎Activation of ITAMs: The SRC family tyrosine kinases phosphorylate immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motifs (ITAMs) located on the cytosolic tails of Igα and Igβ molecules associated with the BCR. 📎Docking of SYK and Further Signaling: The phosphorylation of ITAMs facilitates the docking of SYK (spleen tyrosine kinase) to the BCR complex. This event leads to the tyrosine phosphorylation of additional adaptor proteins. 📎Signal Transduction Cascades: The activation of these adaptor proteins triggers canonical signal transduction pathways involving PLCG2 (phospholipase C gamma 2) and RAS.
