Public and Private Board Director| Executive Fortune 50 and 100| CCO| International Speaker & Thought Leader Customer Success monetization, SaaS go-to-market and Data Science
2024 has been an stimulating year for me, as a Member of Board of Directors across multiple companies and industries Sunrun, Proofpoint, Imprivata, Ping Identity and non profit City Year. Our learning as corporate directors is continuous and I am thoroughly enjoying engaging in small and large groups Stanford Women on Boards, #Deloitte Bay area women on boards to name a few. Last week was a amazing session with #IndraNooyi ex-CEO of PepsiCo and current Board of Director at Amazon, with her coaching at Stanford Law School. My top 5 takeaways : The board and CEO should be focused on running the company for the life of the company not the life of CEO. Shape the board, don’t stack it. Every board member should frequently evaluate if they are still relevant. Deliberate succession planning for both the CEO and the board is essential. Human capital asset is becoming more and more important for investors. #lifelonglearning, #boardgovernance

Throughout my career, I've witnessed the transformative power of diversity in our field. The journey hasn't been easy—women in accounting have shattered glass ceilings with resilience, evolving from pioneers to powerhouses. At EY, we're proud to have Janet Truncale as the incoming CEO, a historic appointment for a Big Four audit firm. But the work doesn't stop there. We must remember the importance of sponsorship, mentorship, and work-life balance for all our people. These are vital for equitable advancement advancement in our profession. Let's build a future of diversity and innovation. When women thrive, we all benefit. Let's keep the momentum going. #WomenInAccounting #Leadership #Innovation #BetterWorkingWorld

Summit Spotlight Session: Navigating DEI Skepticism in Accounting. This session will focus on tackling the DEI questions of firms today – for those who have some initiatives in place and for those who can’t get anything off the ground. We’ll teach you what to say to DEI skeptics and explain why the Supreme Court’s affirmative action ruling has no impact on your DEI efforts. We’ll share how you can properly respond to DEI questions on RFPs and from current and prospective clients (no matter where your firm is in the DEI journey). We’ll also explain how firms are adjusting policies to retain and promote more women into leadership, and how to gain buy-in from new markets and colleagues gained through M&A activity. #AAMSummit2024 #AAMDEI Register Now! https://ow.ly/ZbTE50QK2O8

📢 "Being optimistically dissatisfied" is one of the keys that Danielle Harmer (Chief People Officer at Aviva) pointed out when asked how to improve career opportunities for young women. Can’t agree more! This voice at the back of your mind that always asks for more has always pushed me forward. I have been practicing law for 7 years now and I do not remember a single time where I thought, "good enough, no need to improve." 🚀 Lead with a growth mindset and ask yourself every day, "Shall we make it better?" 🌟 #CareerGrowth #GrowthMindset #Leadership #WomenInLaw #ContinuousImprovement

I help women become execs and thrive in leadership - Former Exec | Certified Coach | Forbes.com contributor
87 women are promoted for every 100 men This is a real problem. On its face you may think, 'That gap isn't thaaaaaaat bad'. But it is. Because it compounds throughout a woman's career so that by the time we get to the C-suite... We're looking at 75 or 80% men around the table. Aaaaand, having less diversity at the C-suite just perpetuates this issue. This stuff gets me fired up, to the extent that fixing this gap has become my life's work And it's not an easy problem to solve... Certainly not one I can solve in a LinkedIn post. But if you're a woman at the Manager or Director level who's been trying to get to the next level and isn't sure what's holding you back... Check out my free live masterclass - tomorrow evening or Wed at noon All it will cost is 1 hour of your time, and you'll learn something valuable. Last week we had a Lunch N’ Learn Panel for Women’s History Month. Our company was so lucky to hear from three incredible women leaders –McDermott + Bull’s COO Angela Anderson, Senior VP of Recruiting + Development Denae Bluethmann, and Partner of the Non-Profit Practice Sue Waterbury. What I took away from the discussion was that the success I see from them came with lots of failures, “no’s,” and bravery. Our COO, Angela Anderson, is a first-generation American who joined M+B 15 years ago as a recruiter. She is one of the most confident and fearless women I know, but admittedly, said that was not always the case. Sue Waterbury started her career in finance and was one of four women on the trading floor. She had to work through biases in the workplace and imposter syndrome. To date, she walks in a room and naturally commands the attention of others. Denae Bluethmann was M+B’s very first hire and leads the charge with our managing directors but admitted that she faced imposter syndrome in her early years. Now, she leads executive round tables where C-Suite individuals seek her advice and wisdom. It was refreshing to hear that success, did not happen overnight nor did the internal and personal development it took to get there. Everyone has a story and a starting point. What’s so exciting is that our company has many professionals early in their career and these women, these fierce leaders, are teaching us all how to grow and persist. It’s now our job to listen and make it happen. #mbexec #interim #retained #executivesearch #growing #proyou #womeninleadership Angela Anderson Sue Waterbury Denae Bluethmann
