The insights! I think that every teacher, especially foundation phase teachers, should invest some of their time into these short courses 🙌 BEd Lecturers too, then we can try to incorporate activities that cover inclusivity in the classroom, in our assessments 😊

From my experience in education, I believe there are key WAYS TO IMPROVE. Start by seeing our kids as individuals, not numbers. Reduce standardized testing. Bring back exploratory classes. Encourage a daily 30 min reading time. Supplement with extra supports. Allow teachers more prep time. Opt for smaller class sizes. Champion for an increase in teacher salaries. Join the discussion! Active classrooms take a lot more time than lectures. It takes time to prepare students with the necessary content they’ll need for the activities before class. It takes time to organize the active classroom to work efficiently and effectively to maximize student learning. It takes patience when active classrooms get a little louder than the should. It takes energy to keep the active classroom “moving”. But the payoff is WORTH IT!
