Can we talk about a big injustice from this year's Olympics? Shigekix was robbed. He should have won the gold. Instead, he lost in the semifinals to the eventual champion, Phil Wizard, and then lost in the bronze medal match as well. Both of his routines in those matches were, to me, the better ones.
Now, I don't know anything about breakdancing. Maybe there are technical moves that I don't understand that the judges do (in fact, that is almost certainly the case), but as far as visual impressions go, I can't get enough of watching Shigekix, or any breakdancing, really.
Performing FOR your opposition & both competitors hamming it up while respecting each other and trying to good-naturedly one-up each other in a dance battle is the best sport I've ever watched. We need more sports like this, please, that lift each other up and in which competitors respect each other's talent and legitimately have a good time competing. It seems not to matter who wins - everyone looks like they're having the time of their lives, no matter the result. We could all learn a lot from that.
This is way better than a sport in which you try to beat the other person into unconsciousness. Why was breakdancing already cancelled from the LA Olympics? I don't think anything is more entertaining than breakdancing. (Well, maybe ping pong).
