AI can be effective, and maybe even help an established site rank for additional keywords....... But it won't be effective the way most people use it. Why? Because Google ranks articles that have helpful, authentic content that speaks to your audience's needs. Sometimes AI can help with that. But it requires work. A lot of work. And time, since good quality over a longer time horizon renders a site more authoritative. Most importantly, AI often produces highly formal, canned content unless one markedly tweaks and edits the content. Google rightly penalizes people for blasting out generic, AI-written articles. And people--who actually read the content--do, too, by voting with their clicks; they'll click away form the article if it looks inaccurate or like it's designed solely to rank. People can tell if an article is written solely by a machine, especially parents looking for ways to help their child with ASD...... The solution isn't to swear off AI. Instead, it's to use it as part of a well-thought out strategy to create helpful content for parents looking for information about ASD and for solutions. Now, now. Settle down. I love saving time with AI as much as you do, however... I also love being found on the first page of Google when my niche is looking for an aligned solution. And while AI copy is great for: ➡️ summaries ➡️ meeting notes ➡️ minimizing typos ➡️ draft article structures ➡️ brainstorming content ideas ➡️ (so much more that I'll run out of characters if I carry on listing them) BUT. And this is the kind of Sir Mix-a-Lot but. (🙋🏻♀️ 😅 hands up who got this lame song reference?) If you're relying on AI to write copy for your website, don't hope for great results on the SEO front. Search Engine results are primarily FOR HUMANS. If there was (maybe there is already?!) a search engine just for all the cool AI machines and chatbots out there, I'm certain it would serve them content made by AI. Just as you know your target audience, the algorithm also knows that it is PEOPLE who jump on Google. So it will carry on serving them with their own type of content (AKA written by real people). My two cents? Carry on using AI for your copy to save time, just be conscious of how it impacts your SEO in the long term. I'd recommend using AI to give you the structure, the title or perhaps a paragraph to get your creative juices flowing. One of the biggest trend I am watching out for this Year is How Will SEO evolve in 2024 with AI and Google Search Generative Experience? One of the key findings or rather assumptions I have is the size of the blog. While the last two updates reduced the ideal blog size from 2300 to 1400 I think this will fall more and maybe soon a TikTok version of blogs i.e. 400-500 words blog will be ideal in getting us some traffic. But why? Because now human written content which is simple to understand and conversational will start to stand out. Long and endless AI content will soon be penalized Check the search result below, you will see the result based on the search.
