The former Manly Aquarium site has transformed into Bar Epsy. How did this happen without any public consultation from Northern Beaches Council? While I appreciate a beachside hospitality venue, the expectation was for a mixed-use development on Manly West Esplanade, featuring public spaces, landscaping, public art, and hospitality offerings. Addressing public concerns, Manly MP James Griffin stated, "a lively space was better than another two years of being boarded up." Given the high-profile nature of this site, it feels like further public consultation could have informed Manly locals about decisions being made before contracts were signed. The Boathouse Group has secured an 18-month lease on the site.
