Last week, our team had an incredible time helping teach high school juniors and seniors at Trumbull High School's Realty Check Event about budgeting, credit scores, and saving. It was a fantastic opportunity to empower our community with financial literacy education. Huge thanks to TRUMBULL ROTARY FOUNDATION for inviting us and to our dedicated Connex staff for volunteering their time.

Senior Program Director | Over $150K in Grant Funding Secured | Driving Social Impact & Economic Growth Through Strategic Program Development and Community Engagement
Over a month ago, I was nominated to participate in LSU Community Collaborative: For The Community by The Community. This is a community capacity-building project designed to enhance individuals' ability to actively engage in community planning and decision-making to improve local well-being. During this time, I identified community needs and submitted a grant application to implement a public project in Louisiana called the "Conqueror Community Savings Program." The "Conqueror Community Savings Program" aims to empower individuals in underrepresented communities to build financial resilience. Through a workshop and 10-week Savings Program, participants learn to navigate financial shocks without resorting to high-interest loans. Hopefully, I will be one of the four grant applicants who will move to the next engagement phase and receive $5,000 to implement their project. I am so thankful for this opportunity to continue my company mission of increasing financial literacy and business development skillsets in underserved communities. In the meantime, this week, I'll be sharing valuable insights on five actionable steps to create a grant-fundable, impactful project within your company. Engaging with my community has always been a passion of mine, and one area I find incredibly impactful is promoting financial literacy. It’s amazing to see how small efforts can lead to significant changes in people's lives. Here are some ways I believe we can all contribute: Host Workshops: Organize free workshops at local community centers to teach basic financial concepts. Volunteer in Schools: Partner with schools to provide financial education to students, preparing them for the future. Support Local Programs: Get involved with local nonprofits that focus on financial literacy. Share Resources: Use social media to share articles, tools, and tips on managing finances. These actions not only empower individuals but also strengthen the entire community. Let's take the initiative to spread knowledge and help others achieve financial independence. #CommunityEngagement #FinancialLiteracy #Empowerment #Volunteer #Education #SupportLocal

📢 Announcing the School for Everyday Democracy in partnership with Act Build Change. Today we're incredibly excited to announce a new major programme which aims to build the power of people from all walks of life to create a better, fairer democracy in the UK. The School for Everyday Democracy will support 100 people to become Everyday Democracy Champions, in turn catalysing the action of others in communities furthest from power and creating tangible change across all four UK nations. With half (47%) of people in the UK believing that they have no influence over decision making, there has never been a greater need to shift the balance of power within our democratic system. Creating a better and fairer democracy in the UK requires people to have the power, confidence, connections, skills, and opportunities required to affect the things that matter most to them. The School for Everyday Democracy will do just that. If you'd like to join the conversation about how the School for Everyday Democracy can create real lasting change for people, communities and our democracy, then please complete this Google Form 👇 https://lnkd.in/eAFNscAM --- The School for Everyday Democracy is generously supported by The National Lottery Community Fund.
