Head of Talent Management @ SearcHive - Helping top Finance talent find their next career opportunity.
Over the past few years of being in touch with a lot of Finance/Accounting talent, I have learnt that “Tell me about yourself” or some variation of this question will almost definitely be asked in interviews. And it seems to me 95% of candidates don’t use it to their advantage. So do this instead. Look at the description. Look at the requirements. Create a roughly 90 second elevator pitch on how your profile meets those requirements. That’s your answer. Rinse and repeat. #Hiring #Finance #SearcHive #Accounting

Here is a brief update for any finance professionals with upcoming interviews. Or who want to improve their interview skills for the future. 👇 I have recently been working more on interview skills with clients This has probably been reflected in some of my recent posts. I have been working with juniors and seniors, from FP&A to IB and PE. Those looking to break into finance. As well as those looking for senior-level promotions. With this, I have tailored some approaches to build confidence in interviews... - Building rapport with the interviewer - Discussing your own story and experiences - Expressing yourself concisely on technical questions - Tackling common interview questions (resume, why hire you, etc.) - Along with a few other important skills and pieces of preparation 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞: I am also tailoring an interview skills programme for 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘢 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘧𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘴. This has been requested and I have been slow about preparing it as I am busy working on other projects. There is a more detailed breakdown of the programme on my website. I just wanted to provide an update for anyone interested! Have a good ahead — Ryan *** Hi, I’m Ryan 👋 I post daily content to help finance and data-driven professionals communicate more effectively in English and advance in their careers. #ExcelwithRyan #CorporateFinance #InvestmentBanking #DataScience
