I am really enjoying seeing everyone's different highlights and takeaways from the Shoptalk Europe talks so here we go with mine! Part 1 - - Lars-Johan Jarnheimer, Chairman at Ingka Group had some great thoughts on leadership and how simplicity needs to start in the boardroom. I particularly loved their Go Bananas card for great ideas and the advice people need to dare to make mistakes as it increases the level of agility. The same runs true with test and learn mindsets, you cannot be afraid to fail. It is a test for a reason! - Jie Cheng （程捷）from Mondelēz International- Sharing her thoughts that in 5 years time omni-integration whorls be complete and that personalisation should be paramount. I also loved thinking about unified commerce in its simplicity and how brands and retailers can create a unified experience together thinking about these three things: 1. How evolved if the consumer in that market? 2. How evolved is the technology in that market? 3. How evolved are the media capabilities in that market? This is the same thinking that we apply with our Mars United Commerce Retail Media Report Card. - The conversation between Bonnie Szucs, Gaurav Goel and Jie Cheng （程捷）also highlighted the huge shift and changes large FMCG's are having to make within their organisations to ensure they are unified, not just in their commerce marketing but in their internal organisations too. Whereas smaller challenger brands are getting to leapfrog over some of these legacy challenges which gives them the power of agility. -Jordan Berke from TOMORROW and Gregor Ulitzka from Ocado Group had an interesting discussion around the importance of thinking about insight into the life of your customer. Don’t just think about their online journey, think about everything we know about them and then use that to help and delight them.
