Do I Need To Be Present During A Tow Sometimes, tow trucks are engaged after the driver has been transported for medical care following a crash, or sometimes, we tow vehicles when the owner is unaware they are being towed. But what about when the vehicle owner calls for a tow? An owner need not be present but should inform the towing company that they will not be with the car when the tow truck arrives. A discussion should happen about where the vehicle should be towed, and a request should be made to have the tow truck driver call the owner once the vehicle has been safely delivered to its destination. Ideally, it is best to remain with the vehicle until the driver arrives, but it is not a requirement to do so. We provide towing services in Smyrna and the surrounding areas. Call us when you need towing or transportation services! #SmyrnaTowing

Secure Your Load The risks in trucking don’t always come from poor road conditions or harsh weather. Sometimes, it’s as simple as not properly securing your load. We’ve all seen it: a big rig trying to navigate a tight corner with an oversized load that looks like it’s going to tip over, or a flat deck trailer with cargo wider than the truck, off-center and looking unstable. Securing a load isn’t just about tying it down. If the load isn’t positioned correctly from the start, no amount of straps or chains will prevent potential problems. Shifting loads can cause major issues, from damaging the cargo to destabilizing the truck, increasing the risk of accidents. At Big Rig Towing, we recently handled a situation where a 65,000-pound steel coil had shifted on its trailer during transport. Moving that much weight safely required precision and expertise. We lifted the coil from its deck and transferred it to another trailer, ensuring both the load and truck remained stable. It’s a reminder of how important it is to secure loads properly before hitting the road. For expert help when things go wrong, Big Rig Towing has your back. From time to time, we receive an incredible amount of reviews, some that encourage us to do better, and some that validate and make our day. But, its not often we receive a review like this. A few weeks ago, one of our customers was involved in an accident on the highway leading to him swerving and slamming on his brakes to prevent a collision to no avail. He was hauling 6 axle dump trailers being held in place by nine of our 4" x 30' winch straps. The trailers shifted an unbelievable amount, and the straps held their own and then some! Read all about it in our latest blog post! #myteestrong #reviews #closecall https://lnkd.in/gQFvTqGz

It takes a robust #braking system to bring 80,000 lb. (36,000 kg) of moving #tractortrailer to a halt. And half of that system sits on a #trailer, about 45 feet (about 13.5 meters) behind the driver. #Trailerbrakes are sometimes neglected during the pre-trip inspection process, especially if a driver is in a hurry to hook up and hit the road. During the post-trip inspection, not many pay attention to them. Inspecting and paying attention to trailer brakes will save you time, money and frustration. Timothy Livingstone of Kriska Transportation Group, Anthony Dyal of Musket Transport, and Michael Frolick CDS of TransPro Freight Systems offer pro tips to inspect maintain this vital part of a #truck's equipment. A jackknife-type collision is a specific type of accident involving articulated vehicles like tractor-trailers, semi-trucks, or trucks pulling trailers. This type of collision gets its name from the folding action that occurs during the accident, which resembles the folding of a jackknife or pocketknife. Understanding jackknife collisions requires exploring their causes, mechanics, consequences, and prevention. Ready to learn more?
