New Post: How to watch all of the 2024 Best Picture nominees before the Oscars - https://lnkd.in/gxrsxCw8 - UPDATE: Mar. 4, 2024, 12:00 p.m. EST This article has been updated with the latest streaming and digital release information. In a year full of exceptional cinema, 10 films stood out enough to snag Oscar nominations for Best Picture. Narrowing the best movies of the year down to only 10 was something we found virtually impossible, so it's no surprise there are some snubs this year. Regardless, the ones who managed to nab a nomination are definitely worth a watch. If you'd like to get up to date on the best films of the year (at least by the Academy's standards) before Oscar night on March 10, we've rounded up the best ways to watch all 10. Queue 'em up for a truly outstanding movie marathon.American FictionPart family drama and part showbiz satire, Cord Jefferson's directorial debut hits all the right notes. It features a star-studded cast that boasts Tracee Ellis Ross, Erika Alexander, John Ortiz, Leslie Uggams, Adam Brody, Keith David, Issa Rae, and Sterling K. Brown. What's it about?"Jeffrey Wright stars as Monk Ellison, a Black novelist with an upper-middle-class background who is battling on both the personal and professional fronts. At home, his family is reeling from a huge loss. At work, his prose isn't staying within the narrow expectations white editors (and audiences) have for Black stories, so his latest novel is gathering dust. Fed up, Monk plays to the racist stereotypes of drugs, crime, and bad dads in a bombastic new book. What begins as a joke swiftly snowballs into a hit that pushes the vexed intellectual into a snarling alter ego from the streets." — Kristy Puchko, Entertainment EditorRead Mashable's review of American Fiction. How to watch it: Buy on digital Opens in a new window Credit: Amazon Prime Video Buy on digital $19.99 to purchase Watch Now Still in select theaters across the country, American Fiction is now available at digital retailers like Amazon Prime Video or Apple TV, so you can add it to your digital library. What a game-changer for German commercial production! Charging for pitching is something that comes up frequently in advertising production, and the German community is actually making it happen. With growing pitch costs, ever-increasing numbers of companies invited to pitch and the appropriately Halloween-y phenomenon of 'ghost pitches' (pitches for projects that simply don't end up happening), I can't say I blame them. Production and agency people - what do you make of it? And can you see it working in your country? And beyond production, should every pitch along the foodchain be charged for? #marketing #commercialproduction #advertising #productioncompany #pitching
📽 German production companies banded together earlier this year to do something drastic - charge for pitches! To hear more about what's already happened and what will continue to change going into 2024, I spoke to the folks at The Sweetspot GmbH, Media.Monks Berlin , Little Big Bang a division of Tony Petersen Film GmbH and Rekorder GmbH.

I help empower sound pros to navigate, believe, and thrive in the post-production sound industry | Emmy® Nominated Sound Re-Recording Mixer | Founder Mastering Post-Production Sound.
Tonight I made a piece of meat. It’s something I really enjoy doing when I want to treat myself. But tonight wasn’t quite the night for the usual flair. Ideally, I’d have a nice ribeye-salt, pepper, thyme, butter, garlic, follow that Gordon Ramsey recipe (IYKYK)-maybe even paired with a nice glass of wine. But tonight, it was just a piece of meat. Nothing special. I didn’t have the time or all the ingredients I usually use because it was a long day. But it got me thinking about mixing. Not every TV show or film I’ve mixed had the luxury of having all the ingredients. Some projects I’d get three days, others I get five, some a couple of months. The budgets vary too. And not to mention the level of sound editorial. Some sessions have great sound editorial, others suffer and I have to work a lot harder to get the mix to stand up. Tonight, I didn’t have everything I would have liked, but you know what? I made do with what I had, and it turned out amazing! That’s a lot like my projects. They might not all have the time I’d like, money, or ideal material, but you know what? Those mixes can sound just as good as the big-budget projects. We do the best we can with what we are given, no matter the number of days or circumstances. I guess that’s the lesson from tonight’s cooking experience. It doesn’t matter what you lack, what really matters is what’s inside. Our creativity and passion for our craft kick in, and even the smallest projects can sound like a summer blockbuster film. Don’t underestimate your resources, your talent, and your resolve, friend. Sometimes the simplest ingredients are all you need. #soundmixing #audiopostproduction #postproductionsound #sounddesign #audioproduction #filmmaking #creativityinbusiness #audiotechnology #soundengineer #mediasound

Here's what I learned through this post If you have the skills, you have the skills. You may not have all of them, but you know whats in your toolbox, and how to use those limited tools effectively. Be confident with your moves! But ultimately, when you practice, give yourself some 'pretend' deadlines. If you dont, you become more susceptible to the never ending limitless to the digital world. Meaning, if you dont have an end state in mind, you'll just keep tweaking and playing with the same project over and over for who know how long. At some point, this isnt even productive practice anymore. Find something new, and try some new ideas. You know how to use the tools,... go use them #audioengineer #mixingengineer #masteringengineer #sounddesigner #audioproduction #producer #mixingandmastering

CMO @ Sprii | Ex @Airbnb @SynergyXR @Gaest.com @Mærsk @US Navy | Freelance Marketing Consultant | Tennis Fanatic
I’m happy to share a film I’ve been working on for a looooong time 🍿 When I joined Sprii just over a year ago, one of the first things I wanted to create was a powerful product film that checked a few crucial boxes: ✅ Addresses the customer’s problem ✅ Presents Sprii as a helpful solution ✅ Explains in simple terms how it works ✅ Builds trust and excitement in the Sprii brand ✅ Tells a compelling story As you might imagine, these projects often get put on the “back burner” when you join fast-paced, high-growth scaleups. But we finally got around to it, and I think it’s a beauty. 🙌 A big shout-out to the team behind the film: - Christian Witthøft Sørensen (Producer, Editor) - Mikkel Ole Museth (Art Direction, Editor) - Actors (Marc Callesen, Benjamin L. Henriksen, Mike Albin Jensen) - Me (Executive Producer, Screenplay, Voice Actor) I know there are lots of marketing, video, branding, product-savvy people in my network who may be seeing this (some of them recently Oscar Nominated, Christian Norlyk and Tobias Damkjaer). I’d love your thoughts on the film and ideas for how we can improve in the 2.0 version. Just drop them below or send me a DM. Thanks in advance 🙏 #marketing #productfilms #storytelling
