Anyone else feel like this? A little explanation for those not involved with Yonah Weiss’s CRE Challenge. Every few months Yonah, a cost segregation specialist, puts on a challenge for interested people involved with Commerial Real Estate (CRE) to improve your presence on LinkedIn. For real estate professionals, or investors like me, the experience both expands, and strengthens your network. This challenge, one of my goals was to add comments that would add something meaningful to other people’s posts, ask questions so I and others could learn more and the author could expand on their original post, and to respond to every comment on my posts. Since writing isn’t my strong suit, this put me way outside my comfort zone, but I’ve gained a lot more. Also, I had some scheduled posts that didn’t go out as scheduled and I had to repost them. Luckily, I had saved the material offline. Gonna be on the road in week 2, so the challenge will continue.

Alaska, Colorado, Illinois, Alabama and Pennsylvania each recently enacted significant new carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) legislation. The Western Governors' Association has also announced an initiative to support CCS in its region. It continues a steady trend of state action to build out legal frameworks to govern CCS projects, seeking to attract the investment and jobs associated with energy transition technology. Nearly 20 states have now enacted CCS legislation, and over 30 states have seen CCS-related activity including legislation, permit applications or inclusion of CCS in state climate action plans. They’re all a bit different so check the rules in the jurisdictions that might apply to your projects. https://lnkd.in/gF-nHF7U www.parsonscreeksteak.com

🥊Employee Advocate 🔄 Counter to Human Resources 💰 Commission Finder 🔎 Founder/CEO 🔥 Entrepreneur🏌♂️ 🏖. I consult on severance, PIPs, employment matters and more.
Assume positive intent. Especially on LinkedIn. And in life in general. Do it until they show you why you shouldn't. Then don't. Just don't assume it with your employer. There is too much at stake. You are too vulnerable and the consequences are too great. Assume the worst case and be pleasantly surprised if it does not happen. Either way, be prepared and protect yourself. Have your antenna up. Have options. Have a backup plan. Have leverage. It is worth the effort to do so. You are not a bad person for not being blindly trusting, just a wise one. #sales #trust #positiveintentions *************** Follow Dan Goodman Employment Advisory to help navigate the landmines of corporate abuse.

FOR THOSE LOOKING FOR WORK -- BE CAREFUL. I was contacted by this person to conduct a full text interview over Skype. They avoided all attempts to speak via video/audio call using Skype and instead pushed onward with a text-only "approach of this interview conducting method". This is a very common tactic for employment scams. I called Tilly's corporate to confirm this person or their positions' existence and was told no such position exists. https://lnkd.in/gkvDfQEc Additionally, this company contacted me via email for another job posting. The entire process was conducted via email and exchanging PDF's (they ask questions and you provide answers) which was a set up for another common scam tactic, specifically to have me buy hardware / software from their vendors using funds from an initial check deposit, which would ultimately bounce. They'd have my money and I'd likely be dropped by my bank for falling for the scam tactic. I reached out to Skillademia multiple times to warn them of this scam being perpetrated in their name to no response. https://lnkd.in/gFi36vD6 If something seems fishy, trust your gut. If a remote-posing company or representative avoids all attempts to speak over Zoom, Hangouts, or any other method-- run. Be careful out there everyone. A work history can be easily fabricated to look real, so a simple LinkedIn review isn't going to be sufficient. Do your due diligence. Don't let your hopes for potential work skew reality. #scams #employment

Very proud to be part of the GDS team, working on the Ameren Illinois Efficiency Program assisting businesses in minimizing their carbon footprints, conserving energy, and lowering project costs through incentives.
Do you have trouble explaining your career to others lol? I recently had a conversation with my in-law about my career. They asked me, "So, what exactly do you do for a living?" I explained that I work as an Energy Advisor, which led to their next question, "What's that?" It was a bit challenging to describe, but I shared that it's the most rewarding and demanding job I've ever had. Essentially, I engage in discussions with customers about their energy-related projects. Through ongoing conversations spanning months or even years, I assist them in transforming their concepts into energy-efficient solutions. The key is to listen to their requirements, comprehend their objectives, financial constraints, and establish trust. I can't possibly be an expert in every aspect, so I often act as a bridge, connecting customers with the real experts...my contractors. This not only benefits the customer but also enhances my knowledge. Establishing trust with contractors and industry professionals is a time-consuming process, and turnover within the sector can impact relationship-building efforts from all sides. Sometimes, a change in relationships means starting from scratch. Whether a customer is new to the role of a facility manager or has decades of experience, I support them throughout the entire process, from initial applications, being a liaison for contractor’s, technical reviewers and sometimes their own team members. It requires dedication and a sincere desire to assist customers in saving money and maximizing their investments. Each day presents an opportunity to learn something new, and I always aim to repay the trust placed in me tenfold. By the time I finished explaining, my in-law seemed a bit confused, but they understood my passion for the job. And that's what truly counts in the end. #bestjobever
