In Friday's People Resources tip, I want to highlight the importance of openly recognizing individuals for their significant contributions as a hallmark of true leadership. Regrettably, there are instances where leaders tend to use the collective "we" when discussing tasks in which they were not substantially involved. This practice can have negative repercussions, such as lowering morale, diluting the rightful recognition that employees deserve for their contributions, and contributing to an unhealthy work environment. So, remember to acknowledge and appreciate individual efforts in the workplace whenever possible. Plus giving props when well deserved feels GREAT!
