We have posted on this topic many times. We will continue to do so because it is such an important initiative for the Central Valley of California.
The BEAM Circular collaboration held its community input symposium on Wednesday, May 22nd at UC Merced in Merced, California. Almost 300 folks representing industry, state and local government, research entities, workforce development, academia, economic development, and other stakeholders attended this daylong event.
The charge of BEAM Circular is to identify waste streams that are generated in the Central Valley through agriculture production and linking them to inputs for manufacturing and new product development. The challenge is to identify sustainable and renewable waste streams and feedstocks that effectively transition us from dependence on fossil fuels to generate energy and manufacture products.
JATCO, Incorporated, was invited to participate in the Beam Circular initiative and serve on their Leadership Council because of our deep experience, knowledge and research using bio-resins. We have a history of processing bio material to injection mold products. As we have posted, we have utilized flax seed, coconut, wastepaper, potato chip bags and other waste streams to blend with base resins to injection mold products.
JATCO, Incorporated, is an industry leader in this space. We are partnering with the Almond Board of California and others that are transitioning waste almond shells into useable mediums to enhance injection molding capabilities. We are also leveraging large walnut producers in California to utilize waste shells to mold products and components for a wide array of industries.
Stay tuned for further posts from us on the progress of the Beam Circular Initiative. This is a game changer and a disruptor to the injection molding industry.
