This is what I call the Local to Global approach. Mostly these problems are faced by every organisation in order to reduce the logistics spend without compromising on service levels. In today's competitive world where retailers drop points are increasing, volumes are shrinking and it is becoming difficult for any supply chain logistics person to maintain both delivery cost and service levels at the same time. Especially in the FMCG sector we can see this issue on a day to day basis. For Dairy industry margins are continuously shrinking, logistics spend is one of the important cost factor. So when I met a bright minded Jayraj Pawar powered with data analytics skills I thought of solving this issue with the help of creating a tool that will map all the constraints to provide network routes suitable for timely delivery with vehicle size/type. Mr. Jayraj flexed his python skills and created a model/tool which can suggest optimised Route, total traveling distance and required out time from factory. We are still exploring this space and trying to add more layers of decision making but we are really happy with the primary work done, as it has given us good hopes that data can help us to solve more complex constraints. Ltd., Phaltan, in the 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 domain for April and May 2024! 🚚📊 During my two-month internship, I worked on an exciting project focused on 𝗟𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 with three primary objectives: 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘅𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗻-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 I am proud to say that my project significantly contributed to streamlining the decision-making process, especially under the challenging balance of cost vs. service considerations. 📈✨ Here are some key achievements from my project: 𝗟𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 were reduced by 𝟭𝟬% using a combination of the 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 (𝗧𝗦𝗣) and 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗴𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗺𝘀. 𝗩𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 improved from 𝟴𝟱% 𝘁𝗼 𝟵𝟭%, ensuring better resource management. 𝗢𝗻-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 performance increased by 𝟴%, greatly enhancing customer satisfaction. I'm thrilled to have completed my summer internship project, "Impact of Inventory on Profitability of Laxha Clothing," under the mentorship of CA Durgesh Sonawane at Rudra Consultancy and Prof. Tanuja Dubey's academic guidance. This project allowed me to dive deep into inventory management and its effects on profitability. Through ABC analysis, I categorized inventory based on value and criticality, revealing that 20% of SKUs accounted for 80% of total inventory value. I also implemented the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) model to optimize order quantities, resulting in a 15% reduction in holding costs. Additionally, analyzing inventory turnover ratios helped identify opportunities to improve stock rotation and reduce obsolete stock. To enhance decision-making, I developed a dashboard to track key performance indicators (KPIs). Collaborating with the team, we implemented a just-in-time (JIT) system, streamlining inventory replenishment. Process improvements recommended yielded a 10% increase in inventory accuracy. This project honed my analytical skills, deepened my understanding of inventory dynamics, and showcased the power of data-driven decision-making.
