Videos are perfect for attracting early career talent. And I can prove it. Here’s a great example we made for Clyde & Co. This was a short explainer video about Clyde & Co’s brilliant Bright Futures Programme. 💡 It’s a vital initiative which has been reintroduced with two main routes on offer. One of these routes is designed for young people from poorer socio-economic backgrounds, while the other is exclusively for young black people. 🎤 With our video everybody understood that the best way to showcase the program was to let those involved speak for themselves. So we interviewed a few future applicants, as well as one of Clyde & Co’s early careers recruitment managers. The series of videos helped Clyde & Co win a few awards, always a nice accolade. The play you need to retain your maintenance talent: Apprenticeships and mentoring. It's stickier than just paying your maintenance techs more. Because it's career-investing and it's relational. If pay is the only thing keeping your maintenance team together there's nothing stopping them from leaving when someone offers more. Plus, learning retention goes up (6x) when an apprenticeship model is used versus just a classroom. Get this. IBM/UK Post Office studies showed that employees who learned in a classroom setting only retained 10% of what they learn after 3 months. But if you use a blend of classroom, being shown and hand's on experience... they retain 65% of what they learn. We need more apprenticeships across all industries. But especially in multifamily.
