My grandfather started the lineage of electricians in our family back in the 1950's when he founded B & D Electric in Lansing, Michigan. His four boys, one of which was my father, David, all went to work for him and became electricians. I am proud to be in the 3rd generation that followed. When I think back, it's hard for me to imagine my grandfather initially using a hand-cranked drill to bore holes and run wire. Then we had corded drills, then decently powered (at least, at the time) battery drills, and now it seems that every tool runs on high-powered batteries, to the point we don't use anything corded anymore. Using this thought process of how the electrical industry has evolved over time inspired me in writing my most recent Independent Alliance of the Electrical Industry (IAEI) magazine article. Digital access to the National Electrical Code (NEC) through NFPA LiNK® is a gamechanger for the industry - and it certainly isn't the NEC that my grandfather used! Have you tried NFPA LiNK® yet? If so, what do you think? If not, please read my article for more information on the benefits of using NFPA LiNK® and how to gain access to a free trial. #NEC #NFPALiNK #NFPA #IAEI #NECA #IBEW #IEC #electricalindustry #electrician #electricianlife #electricalinspection #electricalcontractor #electricalengineering #codecompliance #codesandstandards https://lnkd.in/eb-79JVx
