Our values aren’t just a cliche poster on the wall. Our culture isn’t built on pizza parties and ping pong tables in the break room. It’s not just what we do-it’s who we are. It’s automatic. Culture doesn’t just happen here. It’s pursued. It’s chosen. It’s built. And it’s part of everything. Now, listen… I love pizza, I have no beef with posters, and my ping pong skills are at least above average (depending on the opponent). Even so, successful company culture and employee engagement cannot be built and sustained on ping pong and pepperoni. Some companies see defining their values and building a culture as an afterthought. Some companies start the discussion if there is “extra” time or money or if enough employees complain or quit. I’m proud to work at Epcon Communities where that is not the case. The commitment and intentionality I’ve witnessed this year, articulating our values and building our culture, is phenomenal and I can’t wait to see what’s next! See article link in comments.
