The Ebb and Flow of Civil Rights: A Timeline of Social Progress and Regress Read the entire article here: https://lnkd.in/eJSbP8BJ The timeline of civil rights for African Americans in the United States is marked by few transformative victories and lasting enduring challenges. Some brief legal victories have seemingly disturbed institutionalized segregation, however the struggle against systemic racism and marginalization persists. The African American community continues to advocate for social, economic, and political equality, embodying the resilience and determination that have defined the ongoing fight for civil rights. As the nation grapples with its complex history, the call for more historical transparency and authentic effort is needed. New efforts to end social injustices against African American members are shrouded in superficial "woke" neo-racism according to John McWhorter. Albert Einstein said, “You cannot solve a problem with the same mind that created it.” This could interpret as "You cannot solve a problem from the same system that created it." Overall, the timeline underscores the importance of collective action, allyship, and a commitment to dismantling structures of inequality for a more just and inclusive future. In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we have no choice but to march on.
