IC: Would you want to work on a project for less than a year? Would that even be worth it to you? Would you be engaged? Would you find worth, or continue seeking it? The first year is the toughest time for employee retention. More than 1/3 percent of turnover occurred in year #1, according to the Work Institute (as of 2022). 📝 Our takeaway: Employees may require special attention and care early in their tenure. Qualtrics data shows that the newest hires are the least satisfied of all employees. There is no longer that ‘honeymoon’ phase. Companies need to focus on their culture and creating a stellar onboarding experience to keep their hiring from being a revolving door. HR can partner more closely with Marketing to create and better promote this experience.
