**Read these statistics** The labor market is out of sorts right now, and it shows by lack of retention. Retention is key in long term initiatives, for both talent and leaders. IC: Would you want to work on a project for less than a year? Would that even be worth it to you? Would you be engaged? Would you find worth, or continue seeking it? Leader: Would you want someone to quit less than a year into an initiative without ANY way to get back the time, effort and resources to you put into that person? No one WANTS to do meaningless work. People want to feel valued, heard and appreciated for the hard work they put in. What's funny about the above statement...it applies to BOTH sides.

The first year is the toughest time for employee retention. More than 1/3 percent of turnover occurred in year #1, according to the Work Institute (as of 2022).     📝 Our takeaway: Employees may require special attention and care early in their tenure.   And it’s not always about better pay. Qualtrics data shows that the newest hires are the least satisfied of all employees. There is no longer that ‘honeymoon’ phase.
