🏔️ Consult will tackle Mount Snowdon on the 9th October to raise money for The Open Bionics Foundation! We spoke with Sarah Lockey recently and were in awe of the work she does to support children and adults with limb differences to fund a prosthetic arm. Sarah joined the Open Bionics Foundation to support and be a friend to people in need of funds to get a Hero Arm. Her own daughter lost her hands to meningitis when she was 15months old and she made her a promise that one day she would give her, her hands back. Her daughter now wears 2 Hero Arms and has benefited tremendously from having them both physically and mentally and now that her daughter is OK, Sarah wants to help other people get one too. #TeamConsult will be tackling the cold of Mount Snowdon on the 9th October to raise as much money as we can to support the Open Bionics Foundation and Sarah's mission to provide a 'Hero Arm' to someone in need. For the 3rd year this September, I'm taking on the challenge to walk 10,000 steps every day to raise funds and awareness for people with cerebral palsy. STEPtember is an incredible initiative that helps fund life-changing research and support for those living with CP. Every step I take is a step towards a better future for individuals with cerebral palsy. Your support can make a huge difference! 💚 Children with CP need events like this to raise money to ensure they feel included in their surroundings and not left behind. This is something I hold close to my heart. **How You Can Help:** 1. Donate: Every contribution, big or small, helps us reach our goal. 2. Share: Spread the word by sharing this post with your friends and family. 3. Join: Sign up and take the challenge with me! Together, we can make a positive impact. Happy #DAFDay! 💸 Wondering what a DAF is? A DAF (donor-advised fund) is a tax-advantaged charitable giving account. Gil L'italien has generously donated to Fistula Foundation since 2011. A few years ago, he decided to set up a DAF. This method of giving provides Gil with an efficient way to contribute to organizations he finds impactful, and offers him favorable tax benefits. Here’s what he had to say about us: 🗣️ “When you donate to Fistula Foundation, and divide your contribution by the cost of the procedure, you know precisely how many women you’ve helped.” 🗣️ “This is a charity that makes full use of its donations, because the bulk of expenditures contributes directly to doing good.” 🗣️ “Your contribution will allow women to get surgery and rejoin their communities, so you are also transforming the lives of her family members and future generations.” Learn more on our website about how to recommend a DAF to Fistula Foundation: https://bit.ly/3zHfXWY

Hey everyone! We've raised a big heap of funds so far, and thank you to everyone who has made it possible. But I'm hoping we can raise even more! ***For today only*** all donations to the run are being matched! Make your contributions go the extra mile (wink) and donate today. If you are not in a position to help monetarily today, I'd appreciate if you could share this post with others to help spread the word. No need to donate via my link, direct donations to Fred Hollows are also possible (but not sure if these are being matched). Why donate to Fred Hollows? To put it very briefly, could you do your job with a vision impairment or blindness? Could you support your family, or would they be supporting you? Blindness can take away everything from those affected, but you can help bring it back! Many instances of blindness are treatable. More info can be found on the Fred Hollows website. https://lnkd.in/gDjUFZre
