European Projects: Freedom to move 🗺️. Freedom to collaborate 👯 . Freedom to grow 🚀 . 🦄 Have you ever dreamed of a job that lets you move freely between countries and organizations while still building on the same core skills? 💬 For me, that is exactly what working on #EuropeanProjects offers. Whether writing proposals or managing projects, the framework is always the same—the rules, the templates, and the structure create a shared professional language across #Europe 👇 👇 👇👇👇👇https://lnkd.in/dPaZDZdt What changes, though, are the contexts. ♥️ 💛 ❤️ I have worked on European projects in an SME in #Spain, helping businesses innovate. I have been in an RTO in Spain, collaborating with cutting-edge researchers. 💙 💛 Later, I joined a university in #Sweden, where the focus was on academia and education. Now, I am in an RTO in Sweden, where industry and research go hand in hand. Each place is unique, but the core of the work remains the same. When I chose to work on European projects, it was because of this freedom —the possibility to move across borders, collaborate with people from all over Europe, and contribute to projects that bring us closer together. What about you? What made you start your journey in European projects? #EuropeanProjects #ProfessionalMobility #ResearchAndInnovation #SharedFramework #CareerFreedom #HorizonEurope

The competition's landing page was published today, 25 July by EU Careers by EPSO on its homepage: https://lnkd.in/eWMNe_hj *** Another informal video, in reality a short 'teaser' for the competition that EU Careers by EPSO is planning to publish this week Thursday, 25 July, for Assistants (AST3) in the fields of Finance. Many potential candidates are already or will be soon enjoying their summer holidays, giving them ample opportunity to prepare their applications 🙂 . ⚠ Kind reminder: always make sure to read carefully the Notice of Competition, the legal document published by EPSO in the Official Journal of the EU, where candidates will find all the facts and formal details. Visit the website, check 'Open for applications' under the link 'Competitions and CAST': https://lnkd.in/dj7ddYvA (landing page available on 25 July around noon, Brussels time) (Video prepared by my dear colleagues in the European Commission's Representation to Portugal, Sofia Trindade and Nuno Mota Gomes, during my days of teleworking from beautiful #Lisbon. It's such a joy to be able to use my native language in a professional context, and to have their help for the EN subtitles for increased outreach.)

“Better English is just a nice to have. I don’t really need it right now”. Are you sure? I’m currently working with a 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿 at a large IT company and a 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 at a global firm. They are both very experienced in their job. They’ve now done it for a number of years. But one day things changed.🆕 “we’re expanding our operations, we want to explore new markets abroad”. “there is an opportunity, you can sit in the international board of directors”. They’ve can use their experience, their knowledge, their expertise. But, guess what? They can’t use their language.💬 Yes, international projects, they now have to use English. To be at the top🔝. So, they had two choices: ⬅️ Keep doing things in the same old way, skip the opportunity and live quietly (maybe) ➡️ Grab the opportunity, accept, and work hard to get ready. I think you can guess which option they went for. If you think your career path is linear…well, think again. Changes, acquisitions, new markets, merges, going international … These things constantly happen.🌐 And companies don’t usually ask your permission to implement them. My question to you is: Will you be ready? P.S. If you are a talented professional but struggling with communication in English, I can help. Message me if you would like to chat.🤝 #career #tech #english

“International expert is a term that doesn’t tell a whole lot about a person. Even as one of them, it is challenging to see across the vast diversity that is present within the group. From the perspective of TEK, this presents a challenge. How to best serve a group so diverse, a group with such a variation of needs, backgrounds, and experiences in Finland?” writes Owain Hopeaketo, TEK’s Project Manager for International Experts. Two years of project work behind. The project’s main focus is to support international talent’s employment and to enable talents and companies to interact. Team of three will continue this work in the City of Vantaa: Matleena Vuola, Santeri Raappana and Blen Hailu A few things I have learned: ✔ All stakeholders that work with this topic should continuously develop models and events which promote talents and companies' possibilities to interact. This development work can’t be done without customer understanding. Customers meaning talents and companies. Benchmarking, working in networks and working multi-professionally is needed. There is a need for systematic evaluation to find the most efficient ways to support talents employment and integration. ✔There is also a lot of attitude work to be done. For me it’s hard to believe that some talents need to change their name to Finnish names to have a possibility in the job market. When their competencies and skills are relevant, a name can’t be the problem. 💡 For my own professional development, I have learned many things about the importance of city’s economic development, employment and business services, integration, retention, marketing, company contacting, creating new concepts and networks. 💪 I met a lot of great professionals in the city and outside the city borders. People who work with this topic innovatively. My own network is now much wider. 💞 Thank You to all the amazing and persistent talents I met. I often thought: how can these people be jobseekers? Why hasn’t someone recruited them? 🤝 Thanks to the companies who without prejudice attended our events sometimes even based on only a couple of phone calls. Vantaa’s business services. You’re diamonds.💎 To my own team a humble Thanks. You’re amazing colleagues and team players. I will miss you all. ❤️ I hope that life gives me opportunities to work with versatile things and to meet many new people. From the near future I hope I have the possibilities to do more facilitation and co-development, because I have missed that. On Monday I get back to my permanent job in the department of basic education. I will work with youth entrepreneurship, development of pre-primary and primary education and strategic work. I will also be the management team's specialist secretary, 🔥 On Monday I also have a great crew of professionals waiting for me! #gratitude #networking#learningnewthings
