When I first embraced remote work, I thought it would be all sunshine and freedom working in PJs, no commute, and the perfect work-life balance. Sounds dreamy, right? But reality had a few surprises in store. Imagine starting your day by reviewing an executive’s inbox while sipping your favorite coffee at home. There’s no rush-hour traffic, no office politics just pure focus on delivering value. The transition wasn’t all smooth sailing. There were challenges, lessons, and moments of growth that shaped how I approach my work today. But like every journey, it came with its challenges. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗡𝗼 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 There were days when work bled into my time and moments of feeling disconnected from a team. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲? 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: 𝟭. 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝗸𝘀: It keeps my priorities crystal clear. 𝟮. 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: Dedicated hours for focus, meetings, and planning. 𝟯. Working remotely does NOT mean: Sitting in front of your laptop for 7-8 hours a day and sending messages frequently so that everyone knows that you're working. Nope. It doesn't work that way. The only thing that matters is results. Time management is crucial for remote and hybrid workers. It helps to prioritise the most important tasks against the easiest. It helps maintain a healthy work-life balance. AND it prevents burnout. So it's important to be intentional with your time. How you choose to spend your time can impact your day in a positive or negative way. Here are a few tips to help you with your time management: → Identify your priorities. Be deliberate about what you choose to focus on. → Build your weekly schedule in advance, blocking time on your calendar for the most important tasks. → Create a dedicated workspace that can help you work comfortably, efficiently and focused. → KitKat.
