Growing up, I always dreamed of becoming a medical doctor. The idea of helping people and making a difference in their lives inspired me. However, as life unfolded, my career path took a different turn. Today, I find myself working in a pharmacy where I juggle multiple roles. I am a pharmacy technician, a junior data analyst, and an aspiring IT professional. In the pharmacy, I use my skills to ensure that patients receive the right medications and guidance, maintaining the high standards of care that first drew me to the medical field. At the same time, my role as a junior data analyst allows me to delve into the data behind healthcare operations, finding patterns and insights that help improve efficiency and outcomes. My journey into the IT world began as I realized the transformative power of technology in healthcare and beyond. I started learning more about IT and found a passion for using technology to solve problems and help businesses thrive. This new direction has opened up exciting opportunities to bridge my healthcare experience with innovative tech solutions. Role:Medical Data Entry Location: Nashville, TN(Oniste) Position: Fulltime Data Entry: Accurately entering patient information, medical records, test results, and other healthcare data into electronic databases or systems. Record Maintenance: Ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of medical records by accurately updating and maintaining patient files. Quality Control: Performing quality checks on entered data to identify and correct any discrepancies or errors. Compliance: Adhering to all relevant healthcare regulations and guidelines (such as HIPAA in the United States) to ensure patient confidentiality and data security. Communication: Collaborating with healthcare professionals, administrative staff, and patients to clarify information and resolve any data-related issues. Technical Skills: Proficiency in using data entry software, electronic health record (EHR) systems, and other relevant computer programs. I am currently hiring a remote data entry Pharmacy assistant or Technician and have some advice for Pharmacy professionals and applicants. ***this is not a job post, we have filled the position*** If you are not a registered Pharmacy Technician, you cannot call yourself a Pharmacy Technician. In the province of Ontario and most other provinces in Canada - this is a protected title. This means the applicant has a certain level of education and has passed the requisite licensing exams and is in good standing with a regulatory college. Pharmacy assistants are key and important in Pharmacy work. Absolutely. But you cannot misrepresent yourself on your applications. To me, understanding and respecting the difference is a key attribute in an applicant as it shows knowledge of roles, responsibilities and limitiations. At this point, a candidate who calls themselves a Pharmacy Technician but is not, in fact, a Pharmacy Technician, will be automatically rejected as I cannot count on them to represent themselves accurately to patients. Please keep this in mind when applying for positions. Pharmacy Assistants are important, and I'm interviewing Assistants too - but representing yourself accurately on your application is a very important first step in securing high level jobs.
