Ensuring Reliable Power Supply: Power Plant Maintenance    At OFIL Systems, we pride ourselves on helping power plants maintain reliability and efficiency. Recently, we were called to inspect a Power Plant, which features several substations and six generators crucial for its operation and backup.   Every year, the plant undergoes a thorough maintenance check, including critical inspections for partial discharges. Using OFIL's advanced UV cameras, we identified insulation anomalies during the generator phase tests.   Inspection Findings: Tested Asset: Turbo Generator Unit 3 – 133 MVA, 11.5 KV During our inspection, we discovered significant corona partial discharges in the generator's stator windings, indicating defective insulation. Our team used the DayCor® UVollé VX camera for precise detection.   Recommended Action: To prevent corona partial discharges and ensure uniformity in the electromagnetic field, we recommended applying insulating sealant. This proactive measure will enhance the system's reliability and prevent future failures.   Regular maintenance and advanced diagnostics are essential for optimal power plant performance.
