You can now generate imagery with AI in Google Ads.. kind of. This was opened up to all advertisers today and, to be honest, was incredibly underwhelming and not useful at all. I’ll tell you why.. The premise seems simple, you have a Demand Gen ad, limited with creative and want to utilise generative AI to make your add more visually appealing. You put a prompt in, choose your aspect ratio and voila…policy violation. Huh, I wonder what policy was violated? Well, as you’d expect, you can’t use generative AI for pictures of people, faces or logos. Which kind of defeats the purpose of an ad. If I can’t create an image of someone using or wearing something, can’t utilise any logos even if they’re owned by the advertiser then what’s the gain? You’re left with being able to utilise generative AI of objects/products that won’t accurately represent the product you sell OR places/locations which again won’t be entirely accurate. This creates a whole issue of misrepresentation that can just harm consumer protection. Google has started to run before they’ve even thought about both the legal implications and the actual use of these tools. Google should have: - Incorporated a generative AI expansion tool to resize images. - Provided some form of AI analysis to describe to the advertiser what’s good/bad about the image. Instead you can create your own..which you can’t really use and if you do use will get you into a heap of trouble with your customers. This is a no from me until it’s fixed. Wondered if anyone had any use cases 🤔 #google #advertising #generativeai

Gemini Models are coming to Performance Max (pMax)!!! This is exciting as these improvements and new AI-powered features will enhance Performance Max’s creative capabilities unlocking more opportunities for you to connect with customers. It’s important to have a wide variety of creative assets that meet the needs of different customers and formats. Great creative drives results — we found that advertisers who improve their Performance Max Ad Strength to “Excellent” see 6% more conversions on average. In addition, we’re also improving these asset generation capabilities with Gemini, Google's most capable AI model. Performance Max can now generate long headlines and sitelink generation is coming soon; both of these new features will use the Gemini model's sophisticated reasoning capabilities to generate text assets. Very excited to see these AI innovations continue to take shape and strengthen the impact of all our advertisers campaigns to reach their business objectives! #ai #google #googleadvertising https://lnkd.in/gF5zW-kJ

Google's announcement of shop ads within mobile AI search results is yet another shift in digital marketing. One that may disrupt current shop ad practices. This move, along with the upcoming integration of shop ads into Google Lens, and the text based ads appearing within the AI results, proves the urgent need for marketers to expand their AI expertise beyond chatbot backed blogs and into real AI strategies. Mastering these AI-driven search algorithms is going to be key. But, the effectiveness of such marketing strategies will lie in our ability to optimize for both human users and the AI systems. Searchers want real answers to the their questions and not more ads to scroll through before reaching those answers. What's the answer then? I don't know yet, but as a marketer who believes in the power of AI, I am already trying to figure it out. #AImarketing #aiads #marketers #digitalmarketers #googleads

Google launched AI overview Ads in the US The Sponsored AI Overview Ads will appear below the organic AI-generated Answer. These Ads will appear if the user’s query has a commercial angle - meaning if a product or service is relevant to the search. Additionally, Google won't offer segmented reports for AI Overview ads. so questions remain about whether AI overview ads could result in a good or Poor return on investment. #googleads #Aioverviewads
