Inspecting a rebar cage involves examining the alignment, spacing, and condition of the rebar within the cage. You'll want to ensure that the rebar is properly placed according to the engineering specifications, without any bends, cracks, or corrosion. Additionally, check for proper tie wire connections and overall structural integrity. If you're unsure, it's best to consult with a structural engineer or construction professional for guidance@civilengineering#rebar Cage checking #KH#CCSCE3#FTB#khmerengineering#topdownstructure#topdownmethods#excavation

Some of the work in the project is the quantification of the material to make the weekly valuation, in this order, we need to have a lot of interest about the supervision of the work, looking for the correct distribution of the rebar in columns and the correct alignment of the verticality in the formwork to guarantee the quality of the work. With this we have all the information to make the weekly report and make decisions about the next work and new opportunities to improve the productivity in the project. #CivilEngineer

*Concrete cube test* Concrete cube testing is the one of acceptance criteria for the concrete performance. But we should be confident about the cube testing as it is a sample testing method and it has its own limitations. Many a times we observe exactly opposite situations at site cube test results are good but the concrete of actual element is bad and vis versa good site element and bad cube results, so in my opinion the observer civil engineers should do proper analysis before accepting the concrete. There are some NDT tests and methods like maturity meter but as of now this system is not much used due to many constraints. *But in my option we all civil engineers should think of developing some testing machine which will predict concrete results before casting of concrete so that it can be modified and required strength can be achieved* Concrete is very becoming complex day by day as our requirements are changing for performance of concrete. *Disclaimer- All data and information provided herein are for informational purposes only. Pipe anchors are crucial pipe supports utilized to regulate pipe movements by securing the pipe to secondary civil structures. They play a vital role in piping and pipeline systems, determining the comprehensive thermal behavior of the piping system. Proper placement of pipe anchor supports is essential for effectively managing thermal expansion and contraction, leaving no alternative to their usage.

Do you how to check different patterns of shear concrete breakout? According to recommendations established by ACI 318 (American Concrete Institute), possible failure patterns must be checked. The figure shows configurations associated to different anchor rows and, therefore, different shear forces. If you want to safetly design your interface between anchors and concrete structures, don’t forget to check all possibilities. To clarify the problem, I suggest you to draw the different failure patterns. It will be helpful, especially when we deal with anchors close to “corners” and the concrete collapse surface is “interrupted”. Did you find this post helpful? I would appreciate it if you could like, comment, or share this content. With your help, the information will be available to even more engineers. I hope to inspire people with my content!! Water supply cuts is a major issue faced by PNG not only in the smaller towns, but has become an occurrence in the major cities as well. Some of the unforseen causes being, vandalism or breakdowns in supply system casuing low pressure and or a result of an incident or accident. In a case where there's a leak, if there is a need to quickly restore water supply, the sleeve solution may be used to temporarily contain the leaks while a more permanent solution is being considered. As seen in the video, a sleeve is being used to contain the leak quickly resotring normal supply pressure. However, I would recommend isolating the supply line before attempting to temporarily or permanently fix (water jets at very high pressure can cause injuries or be fatal). #Watersupply #Quickfix #Sleeve
How to seal a running steel pipe ? The sleeve method for sealing a running steel pipe involves using a repair clamp to cover and secure the leak. This technique includes positioning a rubber gasket over the leak area, followed by placing a metal sleeve or clamp around the gasket and pipe. The sleeve is then tightened using bolts, ensuring an even and secure fit to stop the leak. This method is effective for temporary or semi-permanent repairs on steel pipes, providing a quick and practical solution to pipe leaks without requiring extensive pipe replacement or downtime.
