It's not uncommon for employers to take their time deciding who to hire Of course, this can be frustrating for candidates. A great, high-paying position was recently open, and many suitable candidates wanted it badly. The employer felt pressured as recruiters were continuously harassing him. He explained why it was taking so long He confided in me and said, "I have never let go of any employee and literally treat each one of them like family." WOW!!!! I was surprised to learn that he had more than a few employees He had 15 in total! During our conversation, he mentioned that if he has to choose between giving charity to a complete stranger or an unfamiliar organization vs. helping one of his employees who is going through a major financial struggle, he prefers to assist his own employees in a respectful manner as one does to his own blood relatives. It sounded like he had actually done that before! He always struck me as a great person but didn't realize the extent Have you ever met someone like that?! #careers #humanresources #recruitment

When an employee asks for a raise, it’s important to handle it quickly. Ignoring or delaying can make them lose trust and loyalty. If they feel undervalued, they might start looking for new jobs. Too often, companies only try to keep employees when they’re ready to leave. Offering a raise at the last minute, after months of waiting, usually doesn’t work. By then, the employee has already spent time and energy looking for new jobs, updating their resume, networking, and facing rejections. If you wait until someone is about to leave to offer them the raise they deserve, you’re likely to lose them anyway. Recognizing and acting quickly is essential to keeping top talent. #hiring #salaryreview #raise

When I was younger, I was concerned that people wouldn't take me seriously. Now that I'm older, I get concerned that people might not think I'm relevant although I have over 30 years of experience which includes: - Executive level roles at a Fortune 200 company AND a start up - P&L ownership AND staff/corporate positions - Working with public, private, for profit, nonprofit AND philanthropy organizations - Coaching CEOs AND executive teams - Building a thriving business from scratch If I'm not hired because I'm too old at age 55, then they're missing out. #aegism #managementconsultant #womanownedbusiness #leadershipcoach
Employers believe this is the age you're too old to hire. This is why they're wrong

Your organization cannot become a champion of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion by simply putting these three words on it's website/reports. DEI starts right from adopting an objective, fair and empathetic hiring process that: 1- Has objective standards and guidelines to assess candidates 2- Conveys timely decisions & does not ghost applicants 3- Instead of sending a generic email, give a detailed response on why an applicant doesn't qualify 4- Weighs the strengths, weakness and achievements of applicants in their unique context. 5- Give the same applicant another chance when they apply at another position in the same organization. #DEI #hiring #organizational #HR #nonprofits #investinginpeople #bestpractices

"In Not-for-Profit recruiting you have a lot less to work with so there are some key skills that will help to be more strategic in your approach which you will need to rely on so much more than if you were in other sectors." There's no doubt that recruiting in a NFP setting presents it's own set of challenges - and opportunities. We talked to Eva Geissa (Husted) Talent Acquisition Manager Autism Queensland Limited to find out how she manages the challenges of limited resources and the allied health worker crisis, and why she loves working in the Not-for-Profit space. #TalentAcquisition #NotforProfit #Recruitment
So you wanna be a… Not-for-Profit recruiter
